I think that and i thought about this the other day and this was, like, a fresh objectivity moment for me, and it was actually my preparation for talking to you when you come on our show. Comedy, to me, was a subconscious survivalist mechanism, and i gravitated towards when i was laughing, Everything Else fell away, and the world was awesome. It was okay. And, listen, Everybody Needs to think and feel or be told everythings going to be okay. And laughter did that for me. Thats why i love you and what you do because i think laughter is medicine. And its necessary, and its important, and we need it. Its vital. When we all go through stuff everybody goes through stuff. No one lives a life that escapes the hard stuff. For people who dont know, it seems you plop down in a chair and interview people. Tere are so many moving parts to a show like yours. I know that. You guys started working on this in february and then in march had to leave. This is the only show i know of launching in the middle of covid. What has this been like doing this with like barbecue forks from a distance . We actually, in answer to that question, made a documentary called, making up. I made it with my collaborator omar logda. I worked with him for 15 years. This is whats weird, too, about sometimes sharing things with people. You can only do it in a safe and intimate way in order to put it out. I felt safe enough with the people around me to sort of take people on this journey because it is rather it was rather fasnaghts to me to see how we pulled this off. And so i wanted to share that with people. Because i as a consumer also feel like i just see things presented in front of me, and i dont know the journey or the backistic even in these not unprecedented times. Theres a weird Marketing Campaign and someone gets thrown out there. Okay, i guess there was a lot of thought behind this and a choice and now im going to sign up for it or not. And i thought that a better entry point would be to show all that work that youre talking about that does go into it and im used to work. I worked in diapers at 11 months old. I have an infallible work ethic, and this is really a big thing to accomplish, to lift, to put together. In some ways its so limitless that its like, you almost want a bumper rail, a boundary here and there. And then you have so many restrictions. And then, really, i just thought we were going to make the show of today and were all forced almost into a yesterday mentality and lifestyle because of covid. And i was, like, we should make the show of tomorrow because there is no rules and the rule book is on fire. And that was sort of like we had nothing to lose. And i felt a responsibility to create a transportive experience because so many people are stuck at home. And so it made meantime to be an overachiever for everyone out there to have a destination, a place, an actual place to work and to go when you know, if anybody so chooses to even watch the show. Im such an aassuming person. But i swear to god i was determined to build something that i thought honored kind of some of the gentleness of old television, some of the comedy we all love. And to go a little technological, which for a boho weirdo hippie like me was totally unprecedented in my life. But i thought we have got to figure out how we move forward from here and the producer and me also wanted to figure this out. Its not that the show must go on. Its that, you know, we get to have a job in this time and i wanted to honor that with the gratitude and the innovation that it deserved.
