1, 1, 6, on highway one 28 as you just saw in that video we were here when the building collapsed before. Then you can still see flames and sparks and smoke has been happening for hours and told of this fire actually started yesterday so its going on 24 hours of burning. And firefighters are going to stay year making sure that it doesnt. All because that is the main concern making sure that that doesnt turn into even bigger fire now, lets talk about what this building is its a business. Its called leave now its an alternative Academic Program for people who want to take a gap year. Its run by Organization Called youth past passageways as property caught fire yesterday has been actively burning according to its website though the 2 year college increases includes traveling abroad, india and latin america, treats and internships with those academics. This is one of 206 structures that burn in the can kate fire does saying to see earlier i saw home those completely burned to the ground very common an unfortunate side that weve seen across several communities here in sonoma and napa counties. Now send it back to you. All right, thanks. A lot sarah and for all the work youre doing out there in the fire zone people are waiting to see if they can get back in. But the firefighters say that they need to get better. Containment lines to make sure that they know that theyre not going to be crossed and that safe to go back in. We do want to take a look at that zone now this morning james yeah back to zone is still as it stood yesterday with. But question warnings for both areas west of one oh one out to the coast and then east of the actual fire itself. The area in the middle of the purple region thats the mandatory evacuation zone and thats still in place and for good reason because the fire still growing. Despite the fact that theyve doubled the containment from 15 to 30 . The fires also still advancing on a couple different fronts, lets zoom in here take a closer look. We are looking at this fire continuing to burn to the south not as much. But there are new fires to the south. And thats really one of the big efforts for firefighters today as weve learned from this mornings cal fire briefing. Theyre going to double down on the resources to trying to stamp out the very last bits of this complete the containment lines more activity in this is the fire. The portion of the fire thats burning slowly down the ridge lines into into lake county in the direction of middletown and they have a course and more resources heading there with aerial drops in the light trying stop its advancement but the town of middletown is only about 4 miles away from the fire line currently theres a lot of rough terrain between where the fire is now and the populated a portions of middletown but its its still too close for comfort by anyones estimation. And then to the east we have the fire slowly working its way in the direction of calistoga and thats why that section of napa county is still under a evacuation warning. Gloria lets go to middletown right now fours will tran has been for live from all morning a Vantage Point that shows where the fire lines burning will. Right now you might be able to see a couple a helicopter drops water right there to the right your screen you only 7 city can move the camera over there be on the right side of history. Theres a helicopter. That is just dropped and is going back to pick up some more water because now they still with a light up they still have a fight on their hands. The fire fortunately is still on the ridge there and has not moved down. The hillside and into the Populated Areas of middletown i talked to cal fire. And they said its a very deep treacherous area and its getting very hard to get to because its moving downhill. So they dont want the firefighters injured which is why. They have a lot of tools that they can use but the biggest tool. Right now. Helicopter drops. And to verify the fire right now which fortunately it is not windy. So it looks pretty much the same as what we saw throughout the last air so we showed you these the images. All morning yesterday on the kron 4 morning news is breaking news in you might be able to all keep quiet for split second. You might be able to hear some propellers. Thats the helicopter. Another one coming to the area. They tell me that its great that its staying there and not moving down, but still theyre not out of the woods, not by a long shot which is why they still have the warnings in effect as far as evacuation orders telling people get your bags ready to go just in case. But it looks like they have been able to contain the size of the fire. You might be able to see a helicopter. Once it says ah the the trees here in the meantime you can see more trucks coming to the scene as well so they will try to get a lot of work done james under e o while its no windy that was the fear that the winds with pick up the embers and down to the ground. To more Populated Areas. I should say, but look at the trees in the foreground craig news, sunny, not windy. Its relatively cold and they hope to get a lot of work done on this fire. Its definitely charged the side of the hill. Thatll regrowth but fortunately, nobody has been killed or injured because of the fire that spread into lake county in there. It is theres another drop coming right there from the right to the left your screen james and ari oh yeah to make it out there they are coming right back. Dropping the water down to the fire and sometimes the attack the flames other times the it may set up a perimeter which is why james you can see the orange right there on the al side yeah looks like some of the retardant thats been put down as a perimeter, so doesnt spread to other areas and i hear another helicopter starts they might Traffic Control sure if they only officers are safe that they are and thats great news. Theres another one to the right right there wow theres another coming so it looks like one drop and then another one and another one great pride and then another one that got Traffic Control, yeah, yet 27 choppers and 5,000. How people are working on this fire. Its really mushroom to as far as the number of resources, theyre throwing at it. And theres another chopper. Why the picture could not be different though from here in Northern California and what theyre seeing in southern. The time this morning. Started is on top of the getty fire which we already knew this one just started this morning and its a simi valley. Its 400 acres so far frightening homes and threatening the president ial library ronald reagan, president ial library, which is the biggest thing in this area and its already blackened around been fires here before. Have been yeah fact were getting word now from the librarys executive director he says quote the flames are looking right up the hills right up to the parking lot. He says but im hoping he says quote i think the parking lot will save the library. But thats how close the flames are right now International Break lets hope thats the case its 400 acres so far and going towards the 23 freeway. And growing away from the one 18 freeway in ventura county. If you know the area. Thats what were talking about and again i said that this is their second fire in as many days because yesterday we were tracking whats on the and famous the getty fire by the getty center. 2 huge landmarks. You know in l a with the between the getty museum. And this the Reagan Library that was alive or what kind of saw through that breaking the smoke there second ago maybe try reenter the shot but well keep you updated. If if at any point hope it does happen, but if any point the library itself actually catches fire there. So is turning are now some trucks and we know that on the getty theres about 7,000 people evacuated. Its affecting a lot of people rich and famous that area because its like bel air is one of the areas and brent what yeah that have been evacuated because of that fire. So 2 fires working there and theyve got. Stronger winds. I think than we do now. Pretty quickly they still strong down there to give ours backed off guys but theres definitely still a factor weise press on winds spreading further south overnight. So theyre still dealing with those santa ana winds down in Southern California and they have been very impressive throughout the course of the morning while ours that have certainly backed off were looking at clearing skies now some calmer winds really all a lot of good things in our forecast here in the bay area. Youre going notice that. Hayes has made its way out of the bay today were definitely enjoying improved air quality were also enjoying wind speeds that are currently calming. It is still breezy at times for the north bay and out along the coast but compared to where we have been this is some big improvements right here. We are also looking at winds around the vicinity of the kincade fire still problematic at times but was so many in response to the fire we are looking at containment lines being drawn and looks like theyre making a very successful run getting the upper hand we are going to see less and less of red and yellow on this map to that is your gradient that shows high fire danger. So you can see fire danger also reducing on into the afternoon. All good news, red flag warn ngs do still remain until 04 00pm today as conditions do remain breezy. An isolated spots and will also see low humidity too but as we see reverse inflow air were actually going to see a humidity starting to rise and thats going to help with wildfire conditions as its just not going to be so dry out there in the days to come, 40s and 50s for your current temperatures weve been pretty chilly all through the morning, especially up in the north bay were still in the 30s and san anselmo santa rosa. In areas like napa novato are a little bit warmer with 40s and 50s definitely get those jackets on as youre stepping out there, i know its 9. 15 already are about to be but its still cool. Robin. All right. Thank you john oates check in on 92 of 9280 those are 2. This bridges right now so yes, its coming down, but as you can see from this live look it is still quite slow get out there early because the traffic is still under the limit leaving hayward making your way to the peninsula. Its about 27 minutes off to one oh one, heres the bay bridge traffic 80 west and your backup continues to spill through the maze 5. 80 solid from 24. Shore jammed coming out of albany and if youre taking 5 80 or the nimitz no big problems to downtown oakland, but it still packed so leave a little early early because that traffic heading toward downtown and the maze is pretty congested no problems for 2. 80, san jose to Cupertino James r robin thanks. 11 still ahead on the kron 4 morning news, the latest with the kincade fire over 90,000 structures threatened right now as you can see some burned to the ground well have more on th and were continuing to cover the kincade fire as you can see this is the latest live image that we have of the fire that is spreading its grow by about a 1000 acres 76,000 but look at the containment thats wrong. Its 30 contained at this hour is doubled overnight which is the fantastic news in the last hour we actually had a chance to speak with George Rodriguez hes with the Sonoma County Emergency Operations center. And we heard from him more about the situation as it stands this morning take a listen. Mister rodriguez, thank you for joining us here at the Emergency Operation center right now hell be the one that we want to talk to about what the plan is for today and what progress has been made. Yes good morning on. There was been significant progress. Are the front line were able to hold the hiring keep it at bay. Right now from what we know is that fire is currently about 100 acres with a income team in which was a almost double to work. We heard yesterday afternoon. There are still over 90,000 structures threatened. But unfortunately there was a little a pick to the structures that were destroyed. Report last night. But we do have lot more information resources support folks. Double that people to use thing. Theres a lot more Warming Centers that dell opened up. Last night in their laps, im hoping that a during the day and he is one thats on real quickly here in cloverdale the Sonoma County transit. Warming and charging. Know have commitment there in cloverdale for between 6. 06 00am to 06 00pm one have Veterans Memorial hall will be open hears in a caucus. Until 08 00pm funny. And overnight there shelters up a warming to get out of freezing temperatures overnight here. The committee that this in santa rosa. As well as rose at massereene church. Those are some Warming Centers folks can go to get away from temperatures and really take some shelter. When we heard an update from the firefighters said that they are really going to be concentrating on that the southern of the fire so that thats the you know place where. Healdsburg a gun and windsor and santa rosa everybody to the south and waiting get back into their homes. Do you have an estimate or any idea on when that mean thats all people want to know is when can they go back. Still unable to be determined at this point what the weather events we are still there is possibility that the wind can that can return going back into the west election. Right now those are still in place out of the abundance of caution for folks to avoid having them go back in only to turn almost immediately oppose weathers and if that weather condition has changed. So its really important that we know that is frustrating people are going to back home. But please bear with us as as we get a handle on the fire on that left side to ensure that there is weather event or when a fix that fire doesnt to get into. Flare up and then cross over and be a much bigger threat at that point you know its a little wacky some people are upset because like had to evacuate my house. Yet my home has power. And now im going to my work which is not evacuation zone and i have no power. So and thats in Sonoma County. Thats kind of wacky people dont really understand why an evacuated area would have howard. Ryan the solution to incidents right now you know you look at the fire has won in the end and mandatory evacuation orders are in place because of that because possibility of threat. That the fire green. On top of that you have the heavy out end of year. Of shooting up the power because of the possibility of sparking more fires. So that really it. You know that to be an athlete you have. Delighted time and do early but try to try to mitigate very difficult you have those different conditions. And youre at your with the you know the Emergency Management office and so im wondering has that complicated things for you. And you add add to that that the Power Outages have affected cell towers and i know that you guys this is very important that you communicate excel in Everything Else that people cell phones. So people have had no cell service sometimes too has this all kind of actually add a layer of complication to with the p g forced outages. Absolutely and im trying to get the information out its become part thats one of our i mean and let people know whats going on. Even the impacting the cell phone coverage and how phone towers for or you kill a t and get the information out is really difficult. But we do want to encourage folks to take advantage of that feeding Community Resource centers. Be able get your cell phone charged there got to of bottled water inspector available. Theres our resources in availability out there for folks do really the information that they need a man at its best. Matter of how they can get power there and theres you know some spotty think about plug into at that point. Coming up on the kron 4 morning news we will continue our coverage of the kincade fire. Were going fact live the fire lines. But as we head to break here are some of the images of the fire fight weve images of the fire fight weve seen over the last week. Welcome back 9. 23 on this wednesday morning skies, nice and clear and noticeably bluer than yesterday across the bay area winds overnight help to stir up some of the haze that had been hanging out with us. And now were seeing a big improvement in air quality for your wednesday ahead winds are calming down for the north result a row, top wind speeds i should say up in our did peak around 40 to 50 Miles Per Hour overnight. We did see winds definitely are creating a hazard for the kincade fire but theyve really started to drop and now for the rest of the day ahead of us. We are going to be looking at some pretty calm conditions. Thats where we should stay as we work into the evening tonight and eventually into halloween tomorrow, so good news for firefighters up there in the north bay humidity does remain low at this point we will see a gradual increase in humidity. That is also good news for firefighters in the days to come. So overall conditions are looking up. For fire weather ahead of us winds right now actually the most significant right along the coast in Half Moon Bay gusting up to 30 Miles Per Hour elsewhere as i mentioned just a moment ago we have seen things calming down now red flag warnings remain at this point until 04 00pm this evening could see an adjustment to that. But right now they are still in effect for portions of the peninsula of the east bay and then all across the north bay too your daytime highs today comfortable again and a better chance to enjoy them as were going to see that better air quality unlike yesterday when i was talking about staying indoors. A little bit more so today get out there and enjoy what will be a pleasant day foster city in redwood city 72 degrees for your daytime highs well, south bay temperatures pretty similar a 73 for most temperatures in the south bay, 60s and 70s across the east bay union city n livermore upper 60s for you oakland at 70 along with danville in san ramon, north bay temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s with nap at 72 santa rosa today at 73 degrees. Tomorrow temperatures remain very similar for halloween friday. We do see some breezy conditions but winds from a different direction actually going to sing a coastal breeze for many spots come saturday and sunday temperatures on the rise and with High Pressure building in over the weekend. Do expect the possibility of some haze into the weekend and early next week. Rob. Thank you john checking in on the golden gate. Its what a nice drive here on one oh one throughout the morning 20 minutes thats pretty quick and right on time from the novato area are 37 up to the plaza, the bay bridge traffic is sitting out, but its still not great. Its one of the slower commutes right now. And yes, you are still backed up into the maze so youre looking at 12 minutes for your average to make it off to fremont street, not bad, but still very slow here behind the toll plaza checking a highway for because this was our earlier hot spot. Its gone we had an accident west for and railroad a little bit of residual slowing but thats not bad 20 minutes from antioch over to concord our motorcycle accident 80 wesson san pablo thats out of the way so were looking good down to 18 minutes crockett to the maze. No other big trouble spots or alert story about even if you take 2416 minutes, starting to thin out from wanted creek over to the oakland side. Well check traffic and. Announcer 5 million kids use ecigarettes. Its an epidemic fueled by juul with their kidfriendly flavors. San francisco voters stopped the sale of flavored ecigarettes. Vote no on juul. No on big tobacco. No on prop c. Along the fire lines in Sonoma County that fire i0 Sonoma County is now 76,000 acres but overnight. The containment double to 30 absolutely and thats been fantastic news to report this morning, the winds. Thankfully, we werent as strong as they could have been and they die down relatively quickly across and on county but the red flag warning is still in effect for most of the day today. We do know that over 200 structures were. Damaged or destroyed in fact more than 200 destroyed altogether 94. Those Residential Homes but over 90,000 people for 9,000 structures still threatened this morning just a long way to go. And over in Sonoma County and they have a base where they have both or Emergency Operations are set up the cal fire has the very latest there. Residents can go there and get shelter get the services they need earlier this morning. Our reporter christina take teo had an interview and get the very latest you can see how they drove around now they recorded what buildings were save what was destroyed. The charred areas and why this is so hard to find also how much ppprogress. The reason when people might be able to get back into their homes. So lets go to that law that live interview that was recorded earlier this morning. And im actually joined to live here with mitch matt low, he is one of the information for the fire thanks for joining us. This morning, welcome so im going to tell us we have some really great news to report on what happened overnight with containment what is that so let me back up and refer to this mountain. If you go back 48 hours we had wind storms that were pushing the fire from the northeast to the southwest. We have that same sort of event occur last night even with that the fire only grew a couple 100 acres and the vast majority of those containment lines were strengthened if you look at the map behind me all of these areas in black are now contained. Incident commander was saying yesterday morning at this time 15 containment were atnmt so for had a fire of 75,000 acres. And it is well contained with very few in and this is great news considering what firefighters were up against yesterday absolutely so yesterday we had not the historic winds that we had 2 days before that but we did have a wind event come through with 50 60 Miles Per Hour gusts in higher elevations. It pushed the fire that we were ready for it and we stopped that fight. Much of the week mark right now obviously weve got no 90,000 evacuees. What are the main areas right now that were looking at that are hot spots and also what are the areas that kind of have Populated Areas near that the years are really working on so lets start with the Populated Areas if you look at the map the lower lefthand corner of the map up against healdsburg in windsor thats the direction that the wind storms have been pushing the fire. Those areas are well protected now, but the Population Centers along the one o one corridor are definitely. Our primary goal we want to protect those homes protect those people even if theyre in evacuation mode right now. They still want to come home to having a house great the other side of the map way over here is where mount saint helene is and with the normal prevailing winds coming off of the ocean now its going to start pushing that fire. Back up on to the mountain, one sits at the mountain. Were going to have slope driven fires, fire likes to go up hill in which and run uphill quickly. So were going to try to stop that fire before it gets to the slope. So that it doesnt run up Mount Saint Helens so thats an area we definitely want to avoid in that area. Theyre going to be putting a lot of emphasis store. Yes, the population areas along the 1 one corridor. And the base of mount saint helene us where the that the massive efforts going to be today. Now when it comes to weather today. What are these firefighters up against you know obviously the wind storms have come down a little bit this morning which is great news. What are you guys expecting out there so. It there were still under a redflag warning to 4 oclock this afternoon which means we can still expect to have. Significant proportions today as those winds calm down were going to the ocean breeze coming in. Thats going to slightly raise humidities this afternoon. Tomorrow night into tomorrow morning, were looking at frost advisories. Well frost advisories for us is kind of a good thing yeah its going to conditions have sure but frost requires cold and moisture both of those things improve fire fight. Now pushing for you in regards to evacuees know we have so many different people. Our other is there have been a light the end of the tunnel for anyone who lives in the surrounding area. So yesterday to areas were reopened the areas west of one oh one a couple of those smaller areas were reopened some people there can repopulate their homes, however theyre still under a warning. For evacuations, they could still be pushed out of their homes again. As we gain containment and the weather cooperates of starting tomorrow perhaps you can expect to see some time soon folks who are living in the outer areas of evacuations will be given permission go back to their homes. We dont have a timetable for that yet we dont have a crystal ball. We cant predict it. But the expectation should be will will be repopulated soon and well be helping those people get back to their home. Some mentions of recommendations you have for people that are going back after theyve been evacuated, obviously theres an emotional standpoint also and like with logistics should they be ready at any time. So the first step is if youve already been evacuated. Youre in an Evacuation Center youre in a friends house Pay Attention to what were reporting. When we say its ok for you to go back to your home. Typically that will be a company with a Community Meeting will be giving those individuals that kind of information helping them with the logistics of moving back into their homes. How did they get to their home even though theyre still road closures all of that will be addressed in Community Meetings so if they listen to the news that we put out they will get directions on where to go for that information. And then one last time i just really want to emphasize with these black lines and also the red lines mean here just to give people good visual black claims containment and then we point out too just that to me or that the major areas you guys are really pushing effort shrine today if you look at the map this black area down here. Is the area along the populated corridor of one on one thats an area where weve got a good strong containment line and those homes are protected. We dont expect any fire to jump those lines. We dont say its black until were really really short the areas that are red. Are not quite so secure yet. We have firefighters all around this thing were were not abandoning any areas everything is covered thats why theres over 5,000 personnel assigned to this event now. We cant say this area of the threat is as secure yet light rain. But thats our goal is to make the whole thing go black. And then also you guys were talking about a box that you have so you want to make sure that the fire stays within a certain area, what are kind of some of those surrounding areas. So. Let me give you some Background Information when we fight a fire and sometimes we fight directly against the flames, the flames out sometimes the flames are too big for us to put out there. So we back up a few feet or a few 100 feet were quarter of a mile or a mile. This is where were not going to let the fire go were drawing a line here so one oh one was that was that a line unlikely it hasnt of that has an jump that line we did have an incident where we said one 28 was going to be our border. And it jumped one 28. We cant always predict, but we do we define a line that we think we can handle. And we try to hold the fire there. If it jumps when we find a new line we define the bucks right now the boxes basically one on one. One 28 at the top to a Populated Areas to the south and the base of mount saint helene it to the to the east great so we have some good landmarks there we have good landmarks. We have good defined areas and right now weve got a lot of black showing up on the map and we got one more black rage. And then also oraginally we were given a date of november, 7 for a complete containment date you guys are you guys still on track for that do we know if thats over into the act is still the number that the the. Management team is predicting for complete containment. I havent heard anything different than that. Ok great. And then and any other worthy you guys with cal fire really want to get out to the community during this time absolutely is one huge message we want to continue to push that is if youve been evacuated and youre out of your home. You get ordered to go back in the reason for that isnt because we want to keep got us who want to get those people back to their homes as quickly as possible, and back to a normal life. But if you go back before were ready for you to come back then we have to divert resources away from the fire on to the people. Right now those people are safe. We want them to stay safe. We dont want to divert resources away from turning this red line black right. And then also if people want more information of course, 911 is not necessarily the number that they knew number that they need to call as the information line which is 7 oh 7 9, 6, 7, 4, 2, 0, 7, let me read that again 7 oh 7 9, 6, 7, 4, 2, 0, 7, and well make sure that we put that up on line in everything of the sorts. Visit your local chase branch. Welcome back 9. 41 on this wednesday morning changes from yesterday includes a much clearer air across the bay area today, a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge with no fog. No cloud cover i think most importantly today, none of that haze that we had been intermittently the past couple of winds right now have calmed significantly since overnight sonoma in calistoga still breezy at times but overall winds are just going to continue to calm for the remainder of the day theyre going to stay calm into the evening tonight as well in the vicinity of the kincade fire still a couple of breezy spots. So im sure crews are definitely a working hard make sure those containment lines stay just that way they made definitely some Good Progress overnight considering the conditions did get windy again as we gradually see less and less windy conditions today are going to notice less and less of that yellow and orange on the map indicating that extreme fire danger backs off on into the evening and eventually into halloween tomorrow. Robin all right, thank you john checking in on some capitol corridor delays we have. Service that has completely stopped near martinez, a west of martinez, theyre saying its related to some activity near the tracks fire crews are on scene its unclear what theyre dealing with, but its interrupting the service so theyre saying that as soon as they get the all clear from the fire department, the look the trains roll through but for now they have stop service on the capitol corridor trains in both directions, west of martinez, until whatever goal is going on has cleared all that you know as soon as i get more details so plan ahead, the bay bridge traffic pretty thick pretty slow. Youre still backed up through the maze still waiting for this traffic to thin out. Its not going to happen this hour. Most likely the next hour, its just and thats all it is 13 minutes to make it off to fremont street of course well take a look at more bridges and it takes a village to raise a child. To build a bridge. To throw a baseball. To throw yourself into the unknown. To lose fear, to create hope. We believe that it takes a village of over 200thousand dedicated, passionate, driven medical and nonmedical professionals to deliver on our belief in total health for all. We are kaiser permanente. Thrive. Angeles area they have theres lets take a look at the fire burning in simi valley, this is very close to the reagan president ial library. And maybe youll see it in a second here you cant miss because its huge wave building with a glass from but theres also plenty of people hurt this area, lets listen theuchopper pilot. They become safety issue at some point so. Its interesting to see the fire fight. So they need to refuel until they more water. So just be going back and forth. And what youre seeing there on the right side of your screen and i dont thats a helicopter pad or what but that half at least from that circle leads straight to the library fact now we can see it theres the parking lot to the Reagan Library and just off to the right there coming into the is the library itself so the fires have burned right up to where its like our king live out and also the slopes below 2 at the bottom of your screen. But as the zoom in on it you can see is unscathed so far but there are. Other homes in the area too so it is threatening homes. This is along the one 18 freeway. If you know that area and its in ventura county. So this fire just broke out this morning. Its about 400 acres and then dont forget theyve already got that other fire site. Guitar for 7,000. Evacuations from residential as homes their big homes had to evacuate and that fire is a lot bigger and its already burned down i think less than a dozen homes. In the brain would bel air areas where theyve evacuated thats the getty fire thats burning so 2 very well known fronts one by the getty museum and get fire and then this one. The easy fire in simi valley neartthe president ial library for a gun and course closer to home were following the latest with the spot fires that continue to flare up in areas that have already. Burned before which is kind of frustrating for firefighters is cleared an area they havent come back to it now and thats they say makes this so challenging kron fours noel bello has an update. The wind was moving so quickly and there are so many small spot fires that. Of fuel still left in the area. So even though this is technically behalf and yet to the fire gets far from being safe driving down chalk hill road as it connects to highway one 28. Its clear this isnt a normal fire fight. As we can see these winds kick up. And these little embers that have been waiting. The leaves or under the bark of the are now getting fanned by this wind and starting over again of this area has already burned once before as you can see. On this the railing but having to come back for yet another spot fire is exactly why firefighters say the kincade fire. Its hard to fight. Very difficult because we cant commit resources to new areas because theyre still tied up in older definitely deceiving when you see cold that you assume everythings done and over but were not out of the woods and a lot of these areas. This structure is believed to have been a Learning Center though the area burned more than 2 days ago the embers left behind in the wins consistently kicking up created a flare up. Waiting to happen still burning material deeper down. Can be pushed down a hill and rolled into a receptive drive fuel bed. Theres lots of ways that can effect. Fires crews are using every resource they can including pumping water from nearby creeks. But as the winds kick up tuesday night. Were reminded just how quickly things can change. Noel gallo kron 4 news. Its causing that wind in turn out to be as severe and last as long as we thought it would nice place thats a very good thing forecast turned out to be a little over time. Yeah fun, better that than the other way around absolutely out it was still definitely a breezy night so definitely props to the firefighters for getting on top of those containment lines keep holding back because it was breezy. But just a shorter duration and not quite as windy second all good news show. Because we have more containment lines more people who have power airs better right this that is so nice to see its nice to talk about. Positives to cam the definitely i winds are going to remain a little bit calmer to the afternoon too so there is another positive for firefighters about the kincade fire youre really noticing as you step outside this morning just how blue those skies are a lot of the haze that we had been seeing in spots across the bay area had a chance to get mixed out overnight those winds definitely flushing it out across the bay. So yeah were definitely seeing some improved air quality this morning, us the first thing youll notice winds after being very breezy overnight continue to come down will continue to remain breezy at times this morning up in the north bay, but overall we start to see winds tempering on into the evening and tonight into tomorrow were going to see come calm conditions as those calm conditions settle in you may start to see some haze settling back into the bay though too so theres that the downside of the calmer winds but will definitely kelsey humidity still remains in the single digits, so its bone dry out there for many spots and we are looking at still some winds in the forecast today. So what that means for us is fire danger still does remain high, although we have seen improvements, red flag warnings do remain in effect for the east bay all across the north bay and then our coastal spots on the peninsula. Daytime highs not very much so different than yesterday wont be much different into tomorrow, either were very steady as far as temperatures go more 60s and 70s in another comfortable day ahead of us better chance to enjoy some comfortable weather today as air quality is so much improved compared to yesterday. Santa clara campbell, san jose each 73 for your highs. Well the east bay temperatures in the 60s 70s for your highs today for the north bay after such a frigid morning in so many of you without power a likely a little bit cool as youre waking up. Good news for the afternoon as it will be comfortable. Hopefully that power will be restored as soon as possible. Tomorrow, halloween looks good. Do expect hazy conditions, especially for the north bay, a bit breezy on friday and then as High Pressure builds into the weekend. Do expect more hazy skies on into next week and the weekend ahead. Robin. All right, thank you john still tracking capitol corridor delays service has stopped just west of martinez because of fire crews are dealing with something near the tracks. They havent been very specific about what theyre doing or if its a fire if its related to a medical emergency. But we know that the trains are on hold until fire crews can clear the scene and then theyll release the trains after that but still no estimated time of clearing but service stop west of martinez on capitol corridor in both directions were checking in on the san mateo bridge, theres a new accident. Westbound on the foster city side, no lane information for that, but i think its at and to all of this right here the flowing out of hayward still heavy from the tolls so 22 minutes over to the peninsula with that new problem, the bay bridge traffic may be thinning out a little bit for some of the fast trackers but the back of that you see here will stretch through the maze and its going to continue at least for another hour so very slow very crowded. 17 minutes for the drive off to fremont street. What i want to San Francisco trouble free, but your heavy northbound from 3rd street to the 80 split after that youre clear to the the news overnight and the wind was and is is as extreme as they were thinking so more people got their power back on which is good there were no new outages.
