We are looking at minor to moderate coastal flooding right now. If the storm tracks in or makes land fall we could be looking at major coastal flooding. Reporter most immediate danger is rip currents, all week Hurricane Irma and jose have been sending larger than usual waves to the new jersey shore that make it hard to stand in one place, and easier to get swept away in deadly rip currents. I would not swim right now. I want to show you how we know these are tropical waves. These are long, period swells coming from a storm far away. We know because they are really long waves. Regular waves, two or three might jump on a board and i saw this, these waves will go a tenth of a mile to half a mile down the beach, and that is how i can tell these are waves coming from a far off storm and they pack with them a lot of wave energy, which is why even though wave may not look that high it still has a strong force that can knock you over, and it could push you to the side with its potential hazard like we see here with the pipe, rocks, and , of course, anywhere where water initial a low spot on the ground we get those rip currents. We got latest track from the National Hurricane center as of 5 00 and you can see jose has receipt strengthened to a hurricane this storm does not want to go away. Some models have this thing continuing to churn in the atlantic away from frustrates bt continuing to churn for two weeks or so. You can see it, it has taken on more strengthening characteristics. The eye beginning to redevelop in this system and this is headed to the north and west. Heres a look right now, category one hurricane, winds sustained at 75 miles an hour, moving northwest at 10 miles an hour but central pressure of 983 millibars. Its is a large storm. What will happies it will take on more of a mid latitude storm characteristics meaning it turns into what we see as a noreaster, Something Like that beyond its tropical characteristics w that said as storm weakens it will spread out and its wind may encompass larger area latest track does have new jersey in the cone of concern. What the cone of concern means that the eye could be as far west, as, this outer line. That means you cannot rule out a land fall but also, it could be further out to sea. Current track is 200 miles off shore, meaning coastal impacts as we head into next week. According to police first occurred yesterday morning around 8 00 a. M. On the 5300 block of ditman street where a student reported a man taking pictures and recording children. Then at 8 00 a. M. This morning , also on ditman and 10 yearold girl told police that she was approached by a man who showed her money and a camera and asked to take her picture. Ten minutes after that on the 5300 block of jackson street, a child reported an identical encounter. Finally at 8 45 this morning in the same area on the 5300 block of gillespy street another 10 yearold girl told police that a man asked her to come over to his car and then began unzipping his pants. This woman, rushed to that girls assistance. She just kept crying like she could not like talk to me or she was saying man in the black car, blank in the black car. I guess out of all of the confusion he was really trying to take her in the car, all she could say is man in the black car. Reporter in the first three encounters children reported man to be either white or hispanic between 30 to 40 years old with the beard and black car with tinted windows. Well, Jeffery Sandusky will not stand trial next week , sandusky pleaded guilty to day to all 14 child sex abuse charges against him. Fortyone yearold is accused of pressuring a teen girl for name photos and asking her teenage sister to perform a sex act. He faces up to eight years in prison. He will also now to have register as a sex offender. San dustcy is the son of the former penn state assistant coach Jerry Sandusky who was convicted in 2012 of child sex abuse charges. Now this on and near the campus of the Delaware County high school and School Officials say one brawl was instigated by a parent. Video recorded by students show a fight, yesterday on the property of Sun Valley High School in aston and administrators say a mother came on the property to confront a student accused of body slamming her son, earlier in the day. The district says that they met with the mother and parents of the other students but the woman returned after school. Yesterday was not really about our students. Eventually will get pick up, and start to take on more of a traditional mid latitude storm characteristic as opposed to a tropical system before it moves along eastern seaboard passing off our coastline monday night into tuesday. As of right now track is a couple miles off the coast. Coastal impacts will be most pronounced with this system. Take a lot at wind field. As the storm starts to weaken a little bit wynfield will start to expand. We will see these wind over 30 g autopsy long the outer banks. This is sunday evening and that will continue to move up the coast. There will be a strong wind at the coast, even inland. It just depends on the track of jose. Fit moves further to the west we could see more inland impact but furthere you will just get clipped on the coast. Its current path does have threat for rough surf rip currents throughout weekend and next week. Peeking on monday. Rain, wind along the coast as well with possible Tropical Storm force gusts depending on the track. Keep saying that but it really we saw witt irma how it moved back and forth a lot could change this weekend. Beach erosion and minor coastal flooding is possible. Showers and storms may make it air fast as fail if that storm track is close enough to the coast. That is something we will watch here at eyewitness weather.
