With Katie Fehlinger and Chelsea Ingram. Lets talk about the latest track. That is that linchpin, that is the catalyst it is the crux, that is exactly what we need to focus on to see exactly what will happen here because of decides it will shift little bit to the east or west, it changes the game. Now we do still have our our thinking in place ferrier on today. Right now when we look at the Current Conditions over the southeast, the storm really starting to intensify. You got very heavy snow currently coming down as far south as even florida and georgia right now. And this will continue to move northeast in time. So we have since upped the expectation for it starts to move in 7 00 p. M. They begin to fall in the southern most counties sussex cape may and then the bulk of heavier snow likely to fall first half of tomorrow. You in in fact see the heaviest of the that snow at the jersey shore and through the southern delaware region. But after 3 00 p. M. It all starts to taper off. The storm a monster of a storm rotates away but we are going be stuck in the aftermath with very harsh wind chelsea will touch on looking at the current snowfall map. We havent changed this yet. But i would stick with us again this is one of those forecasts that could throw us a last minute curve ball and you want to check back. So make sure that you check back in with kate forecast at 5 00 and 6 00. Four to 6inches the expectation along the shore line. Cape may southeast atlantic and parts of ocean county to sussex. Will there be a very sharp cut off to this. Another thing that makes this tricky when it comes to foreca forecasting heres look at the winter alerts going into effect winter storm warnings understand why they would be closer to the shore along the injuries see coastline commune Sussex County and just to the northwest of that notice not even including philadelphia a Winter Weather advisory possibility that that Winter Weather advisory gets shoved a little bit further inland philly would be included a winter storm watch in monmouth county. But along with the snow, weve been mentioning, the wind is very big concern with this. With that ill zen it out to meteorologist Chelsea Ingram on the sky deck all bundled up. Thats right, still cold out here katie. Thank you for that. And we are looking at onetwo punch of a storm system the wind and the cold is going to be arriving behind the snow but many of us will see down the shore. Lets take to you graphics show was im talking about. The wind and cold being part two of the story with this system. Why is it going to get so windy this area of low pressure traveling up to the north and east its going to be deepening. Strengthening and intensifying and that is going to intensify the winds as the system really strengthens create wagon we call a tight fresh gradient were talking about winds gusting over 30 miles an hour but as you can see right now, things are calm its quiet. Winds gusting around they are Miles Per Hour in philadelphia. We can certainly easily see gusts even higher than that down the shore 43 Miles Per Hour gust in wildwood. Is around 9 00 oclock thursday evening and this is going to continue really all the way into the weekend. You combine that with cold temperatures, well, we have a wind chill watch thats already been issued for carbon and monroe counties. This goes into effect starting at 6 00 p. M. On thursday lasting through the first half of the weekend. We can see wind chill values as low as 25 degrees below zero. Its going feel dangerously cold even right here at home in philadelphia. Welcome back everyone. As we take live look outside from Central Parkway live at the Franklin Institute in the for ground nice blue sky little bit of cloud cover but all in all, if you stepped outside and you were outside in previous days, it almost feels balmy. The wind has let up the sun is still shining. Its still but its not as harsh as its been in recent days. When we switch over and take lock at the actual air temperatures whats nice about today is, a, the warmest its begun in recent days. Were at 27 currently expecting maybe another 3 degrees for the high. But you dont have to factor in a wind chill for the most part across the region so its just not as harsh which really makes huge difference. The its currently 27 at the airport. So, yes, you havent reached freezing we dont expected to that yet again today. So the cold air is still setting the stage for this very poe tenor easter to continue to intensify over the span of the next handful of hours and then as we say balm out primarily out to sea but its very likely to bring upwards a couple of feet of snow in places like new england. Here locally, not quiet so much right now looking at storm scan little bit tighter zoom on that storm. A lot of moisture packed up with this and it is snowing in southeastern, South Carolina and georgia theyre just not all that used to it there. And this is going to be an impact up and down the entire eastern seaboard. Its pretty rare that you see winter storm warnings as far south as florida and then right up the coast. These red shaded areas are actually blizzard warnings for parts of the zip cape in massachusetts and also down east maine. So everyone is getting an impact from this. But youre really going see the brunt of this in atlanta, can in a and new england. Lets talk about how this is going to impact us one more time. Bring it back locally. Here is one models interpretation how it will shake out. Later tonight maybe as early as seven, 8 00 oclock this evening in fact snow or possibly even a little icing initially at the onset but its primarily a snow producer will start to move in. Through the overnight though the spreads in. As this is rotating past us, its all about how far inland this gets as to how much snow well end up seeing fay at all in some of the north and most counties. Again, track is everything. And because it continues continues to be tricky were fine tuning with every possible model run youll want to check back with us again but the snow rash less it moves into tonight. Heaviest snow will be at the shore. And with an arctic blast and very strong winds that definitely come as the storm is strengthening and through in the wake of the storms passage we are going to feel some really harsh wind chills as a result. Im taking to friday afternoon things are feeling incredibly brutal. This may be the best we get on friday. At best maybe one or 2 degrees for a feels like value. Thats the best you get through the day. Most of the day youll spend below zero for feels like values back fog in those winds that could peak at high as 35 miles an hour give or take it really will be harsh again these are the numbers youll need to go by. Through the entire upcoming weekend. Records aside, heck it looks as though saturday will still be just as harsh and certainly overnight into sunday same idea here. So theres just not much relief any time soon. Heres a list format who gets what. One more time, this could change very easily given the latest guidance things are starting to look like they may shift a little bit. But were going to hold on to these numbers at least for now. Four to 6inches the expectation both in southern delaware and at the jersey shore line. Lesser totals as you go further and further inland here. There may again be Winter Weather advisories that does get issued for philadelphia. Right now you dont have that one. At the boardwalk plaza in rehoboth, a generally clear sky. You still do have clouds starting to build in. A sign obvious of things yet to come as we look forward coldest days obvious coming on friday and especially saturday. But the bright spot. Take deep breath look ahead to monday and tuesday, my friend. We finally not only exceed freezing, but were in the 40s. Doesnt that sun like shorts and flipflops weather at this point. Brake out the caprice, the flipflops the sandals. Clamdiggers. Make the through the weekend really really cold. Thanks katie. Sure thing. Materials are given new live in very unusual way. Heres meisha with todays love it. Meisha. Protecting our environment is important and today im taking you inside a first of its kind home in Santa Barbara that helps with just that issue a house made completely out of shipping containers this piece of architecture could one day be a model for Sustainable Living. Take a look. Americans are consumers. We buy a lot of stuff, and a lot of that stuff is made somewhere else. So we ship it in by the ship load literally. Reporter environmental lawyer brett stone saw the possibilities gave them a second life and then made something beautiful. All of this done by taking five shipping containers and turning them into a living space for his family. So what i wanted was something that spoke to me. Spoke about who i was and what i did and when i learned about repurposing shipping containers in buildings i thought it was really exciting. Reporter the three bedroom twostory home has modern industrial feel. Even the shipping container doors were put to use. And while shipping container homes arent a new concept, there arent a lot of guidelines when it comes to construction. The challenge was completed in about 16 months. And stone says home like this is not out of reach for others. For this particular house it costs approximately what a house of this size would have cost. You can absolutely build smaller units, less high end finishes and have a very affordable structure whether its multi units, whether its commercial. Pretty cool. Stone hopes shipping container home will serve as lasting model for sustainable construction now and of course into the future. He says the structure is there now to educate and inspire others to view objects and materials differently and to encourage them to start their own personal project theyve been dreaming about end also hopes this model will work for the Affordable Housing project hes been working on right now as well. Setting a great example to cities everywhere and what can be done if it hasnt been started already. Recycle, recycle, recycle. Love it of the. Just talking about that with amazon. So incredibly important. When i used to work in real estate handful of years ago, the commercial side was all about Sustainable Living and eco friendly environmental friendly so nice to see it come into the residential sector as well and becoming so popular. Even affordable. Yeah. No doubt about it. Thinking out of the box. All right. Meisha, thank you. Up next, money mania. Not one but two huge lottery jackpots are still in play.
