There was a pattern to union ministersâ and BJP functionariesâ outrage against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for âdisrespectingâ Prime Minister Narendra Modi last Friday. Their tweets suggested a common word-stock â âdark/black dayâ, âpetty politicsâ, âcooperative federalismâ, âconstitutional valuesâ, âpetulanceâ, âegoâ and âpublic welfare.â
An hour before the Prime Minister flew down to Kalaikunda airbase in Bengal for a review meeting on cyclone Yaas, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)âs information and technology department head Amit Malviya tweeted how Banerjee, at her âpetulant bestâ, was going to skip it for âpetty politicsâ. Eight hours later, Union minister Smriti Irani slammed the Bengal CM for âpetulanceâ and âpetty politicsâ.
