Limited public access, more live streaming planned for Alabama legislative session

The session starts Feb. 2, a date set in the state Constitution.
“We are doing all we possibly can under these difficult circumstances to protect the public, our staff, and our members, while opening the government for this session with an open, transparent process,” Secretary of the Senate Pat Harris said in a press release.
House Speaker Mac McCutcheon said the House has ruled out moving to a site other than the State House. A task force studied several alternatives. McCutcheon said the House is completing its plans to adapt to the pandemic within the State House.
