Man 'grabbing grog' without paying spared prison term

He drove to Countdown Blenheim, grabbed a 12-pack of Stella Artois valued at $23 before walking out without paying.
Millar drove the van back to Graham St, taking a GPS from it which was valued at $400. He took the keys from the van and left.

Millar pleaded guilty to two charges of theft, two of shoplifting and one of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle when he appeared in the Blenheim District Court in March. (File photo)
The GPS was later recovered and returned to the company.
A month later, on December 23, Millar went to Picton Fresh Choice and took an 18-pack of Corona beer valued at $44. He left the supermarket without paying.
