The two boats on fire on Saturday afternoon at the TaupÅ Boat Harbour.
The owner of a boat written off in a fire in Taupō’s boat harbour at the weekend is thankful no-one was hurt when his boat erupted in flames.
Grant Bayley was on the boat only half an hour earlier, finishing a cleanup after getting back from a three-day excursion on the lake.
“It could have been a lot worse but the main thing is nobody got hurt,” Bayley told
Stuff on Monday. “At the end of the day, it is just a boat and you can get a new one.”
