Mayville man dies in workplace accident

Josh Topham died from injuries he sustained while working at a residence in Caro May 17.
Caro Police Chief Brian Newcomb said Topham, 39, was a volunteer Mayville firefighter and the owner of a seamless gutter company and was working with his crew when he "got tangled up" and fell. Newcomb estimated Topham's fall was more than 30 feet.
Newcomb said Caro Police Department was assisted on scene by Caro Fire Department, Tuscola County Sheriff's Office and MMR.
Newcomb said emergency personnel provided lifesaving measures and attempted to airlift Topham to the hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
