Written by Ridgefield Public Schools
Ridgefield Public Schools announced today the appointment of Cory Gillette, M.S.Ed., as the new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Gillette comes to Ridgefield from the Darien Public Schools, where she has worked since 2013, first as a Literacy Program K-12 Coordinator then K-5 English Language Arts and Social Studies Program Director.
RPS Superintendent Dr. Susie Da Silva cited Gillette’s experience with Darien’s K-12 curriculum alignment as critical to RPS’s programmatic needs. “She has the experience to look at curriculum implementation at the elementary level to inform students’ middle and high school success.” Gillette’s depth of knowledge with the Wilson, Fundations, and Orton-Gillingham approaches to literacy will be particularly important here. The District conducted an extensive search and found Gillette’s knowledge of technology, literacy, curriculum, student assessment, and professional development for teachers to be unparalleled.
