President Museveni last month appointed former Namutumba District Woman Member of Parliament Florence Mutyabule as a presidential adviser on poverty alleviation in Busoga, making her the third female to hold the portfolio in less than eight years.
The first appointee was Ms Maureen Waluube Kyalya, a former presidential candidate, and later Busoga Kingdom tourism minister, Ms Hellen Namutamba.
However, Ms Mutyabule’s posting has evoked mixed reactions, with some residents saying President Museveni should have appointed a man, alleging “underperformance” by female appointees.
