A writing anthology titled “Hindsight is 2020: The People of Dublin Look Back on a Challenging Year” is seeking content from Dublin community members to document the past year’s wild ride. DubHub program coordinator Volkert Volkersz said he got the idea to produce an anthology several months ago, after contributing to a similar project via the Monadnock Writers’ Group, titled “Penning the Pandemic.” At this time last year, Volkersz said the DubHub had completed their first every photo contest and anticipated doing another one in 2020, but there’s no way to show off the entries in person this year, he said. After a year with pandemic-related complications, isolation, and cancellations, election turmoil, few opportunities for community-wide events, and more, a collection of community members’ reflections on the past year seemed like the way to document the community’s experience, he said. “Something we can look back on in 10 years and say, “Yeah, that was a crazy year,”” Volkersz said. The DubHub Board of Directors supported the idea when he brought it to them a couple months ago, and the Dublin Public Library has agreed to partner on the project since then, he said.
