Muncie crime news: Police allege woman fled in Cowan couple's SUV during test drive

MUNCIE, Ind. — Deputies say a Muncie woman expressed interest in a Chevrolet Tracker a Cowan couple had put up for sale — and then fled with the vehicle during a test drive.
Stevey Ellen Phillips, 34, was arrested this week on a preliminary count of auto theft.
According to an affidavit, the couple had left the 2003 Tracker outside their home, along Delaware County Road 600-S, with a sign offering it for sale for $2,500.
They said they were awakened on the morning of April 28 by a woman later identified as Phillips, who knocked on their front door and announced she was interested in purchasing the SUV.
