A 4-year-old child was fatally struck by a vehicle in New Iberia Friday, police confirm.
The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Julia Street around 3:30 Friday afternoon, according NIPD spokesperson Sgt. Daesha Hughes. The toddler was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, and we will provide new details as they become available.
