Titans coach Justin Holbrook was heartened by the many chances his team created in a 20-4 loss to the Raiders but felt they learned a lesson in execution.
Holbrook conceded he should've replaced halfback Jamal Fogarty earlier than the 52nd minute after he copped an early quadriceps cork but is hopeful he will face Newcastle next week.
The Gold Coast also lost winger Anthony Don to a seemingly serious second-half hip injury at Netstrata Jubilee Oval but Holbrook couldn't confirm the severity.
"When you lose a halfback and a winger and you're chasing points, it makes it very hard to win," Holbrook said without blaming those casualties for the defeat.
