ODVA extends EtherNet/IP specification: EtherNet/IP networks now support Ethernet-APL

Real-time Ethernet networks according to the EtherNet/IP standard now support Ethernet-APL, the Advanced Physical Layer for process automation. A corresponding extension of the EtherNet/IP specification has now been announced by the user organisation ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendor Association).
