Omar Ayub calls for greater US investment in multiple sectors including power

Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan has called for greater US investments in power generation, transmission and distribution, artificial intelligence, renewable and hydel energy.
Talking to US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Pakistan Affairs Lesslie C Viguerie, who called on him in Islamabad, the minister said present government is making efforts to transform energy sector.
He says government has finalized Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan -2047 which emphasizes on increasing the share of indigenous sources to reduce the reliance on imported fuel.
The Minister said the government will induct renewable energy-based power plants through open and competitive bidding in a transparent manner and will encourage transfer of technology.
