Over 64 pc increase in number of convicts in Maharashtra prisons in one year, shows report

The statistics state that the number of convicts in Maharashtra in 2022 were 7,998, compared to 4,861 convicts in 2021, with the state now ranking third across the country, compared to its eighth position last year.
