PICAYUNE, Miss. (WLOX) - “We could be dealing with three homicides here.”
That’s the sobering thought Picayune Police Chief Freddy Drennan knows could have easily been reality in his city Sunday afternoon when gunfire erupted outside an apartment complex.
A 13-year-old boy now sits in the Pearl River County jail on a $1.5 million bond, charged as an adult with three felony counts of aggravated assault. Drennan said the motive for the shooting was an ongoing argument between the suspect and some other juveniles, though he described the crime as “a random act” because the victims were not part of the argument with the suspect.
