PITTSBURGH — The original plans called for a gala performance from Heinz Hall.
But with coronavirus-spawned crowd restrictions still in place, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will launch its 125th anniversary celebration with a special virtual concert Saturday.
"Join us for our 125th anniversary celebration from the most exclusive venue out there — your personal concert hall," the Pittsburgh Symphony tells subscribers and fans.
A $25 donation gains PSO fans early access to an extended version of the digital concert, plus a downloadable historical program book that highlights the Grammy Award winning orchestra's 125 years. Sign ups are at https://donate2.app/hLU7Dx
The concert will premiere at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, with access for two additional weeks following the concert.
