The participating students — 14 from each grade, 6th through 9th — will spend two days a week at Verdun Adventure Bound near Rixeyville and two days at Highland School in Warrenton.
Highland is not aware of any other organizations in our area providing a similar program that combines both academic and social-emotional support with an outdoor education component in the same program, at the same scale, and in a partnership with an outdoor education center like Verdun.

Students in public middle schools have an opportunity to participate in a new, two-week summer program that will combine outdoor activities with math, language arts, STEM and performing arts classes.
