Police were dispatched to a Belmont convenience store at 11:25 p.m. Thursday after a female victim came in the door crying and asked for the patrons in the store to lock the door behind her.
Once inside, they were unable to lock the door and a shirtless male pulled the door open and took the victim, according to Twitter posts by Capt. Tom Rummel. He forced her into his truck before driving off. Officers found the woman a few blocks away with minor injuries, reportedly from an assault.
Later, the officers found the truck and the man, though he was thought to be unconscious. They used their sirens and microphones after blocking the truck in, but he didn’t move. Officers also deployed a flashbang grenade, but the suspect did not wake up.
