GREEN BAY, Wis. — The months-long drama between Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers may be nearing its end, just days before the Packers begin training camp.
Ian Rapaport of the NFL Network reported earlier Monday that Rodgers had told some people that he was planning on returning to the Packers for this season. Now, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the Packers are willing to make a number of concessions to Rodgers to convince him to return.
According to ESPN, the agreement is not final, but is in the final stages of negotiation. The list of things the Packers reportedly been willing to give Rodgers includes voiding the last year of his current contract in 2023 with a promise not to use a franchise tag on him in the future and a review of Rodgers’ status with the organization after this season.
