Milwaukee has recently been added to the list of cities that the BUILD Health Challenge, a unique national program focusing on bold, integrated, local, and data driven projects that can improve community health, is looking to work with. BUILD has specifically targeted Sherman Park, a neighborhood that has long been associated with the systemic inequities its residents experience along with many other challenges the community already faces.
BUILD Sherman Park will advance a community-driven process which will create templates for further action, capacity-building and community healing. This project focuses on fostering safe, strong neighborhoods, as well as strengthening capacity, coordination, and collaboration for health and safety.
