Shooting at New Year's Eve party in Schriever leaves one dead, another injured, authorities say
A 20-year-old was arrested in connection with a shooting that killed a Nicholls State University student and left another seriously injured at a New Year's Eve party in Schriever, authorities said.
Eric Thibodaux, a freshman from Larose, was killed in the shooting, according to an email Nicholls officials sent to students and staff.
Kamron Kajon Jacquot was arrested on warrants for second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office said.
Police and court records show Jacquot had a recent address in Bayou Blue, but authorities said he no longer lived there.
