Bob Raines, the superintendent of the Shoreline Unified School District who was arrested on June 8 on charges of lewd acts with a child under the age of 14, was placed on unpaid leave by the school board last week.
The county district attorney’s office is reviewing the case to decide whether or not to file charges, and the school district and sheriff’s office are being tight-lipped about what happened. Details about when and where the alleged crime was committed have not been shared, and the district has not confirmed that the alleged victim was a student. The crime was reported on June 1 in Tomales. The Light’s requests for more information from board members, principals, family advocates and counselors have gone unanswered.
