The eight-week free online training in phlebotomy will be offered in French starting May 31st.
The Dean for the School of Health and Community Services in Campbellton Julie Cyr says this is a stackable micro-certification.
“Students who register in the program will be able to acquire the competencies necessary for drawing blood samples. This training is also transferable and may be used as a pathway to other CCNB programs related to the health field, including the medical laboratory assistance and medical laboratory sciences programs,” says Cyr.
Those with a high school diploma or GED can apply.
“During the first six weeks, students will complete a combination of theory training in the classroom and in the lab in their respective region. During the last two weeks, they will complete a placement in one of the Network’s health centres,” says Yves Goudreau, Director of Laboratory Services at Vitalité Health Network.
