Small But Steady Fall In PUP Numbers

Almost 465, 000 people received the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this week, down almost 4,000 on last week.
The Department of Social Protection has said that €139.06 million in PUP will be paid out tomorrow - with a further 2 million in arrears will be paid to 6,500 people.
These arrears are payable to people who are no longer on the PUP and who may not be expecting a payment this week.
This brings the total amount being paid out this week to over €141 million.
These latest figures from the Department of Social Protection are in addition to the 186,702 people who were on the Live Register at the end of February.
