Speedy trial provisions under new criminal codes would not be of use if courts lack resources: CJI DY Chandrachud

CJI Chandrachud called the three-year deadline for criminal trials in the new criminal laws "a breath of fresh air" while SG Mehta said that the provision for staggered custody was anti-criminal, not anti-people.
