Stimulus update April 7: For those on Social Security, payments should arrive today -- except for this one group

The IRS has said it will automatically send a third stimulus payment to people who didn’t file a federal income tax return but receive Social Security retirement, survivor or disability benefits (SSDI), among other groups.

The IRS said a large batch of payments with an official payment date of April 7 are going to Social Security and other federal beneficiaries who didn’t file a 2020 or 2019 tax return and didn’t use the Non-Filers tool last year.
