“Although we are saddened to lose such a bright and innovative artistic director, we are also extremely excited for Mélanie and her new role with (Symphony New Brunswick),” the SSO said in a release.
“Mélanie will continue on with the SSO for the (2021-22) season, which is being finalized and announced in the upcoming weeks.
In 2015, SSO music director Victor Sawa stepped down from his longstanding position with Sudbury’s orchestra and a two-year search began to find a new director.
