Supervisors support adding First 5 Center in Fairfield, 2 other proposals
FAIRFIELD — Solano County plans to ask the state for $2 million to develop a First 5 Center in Fairfield.
It was one of three legislative proposals approved Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors. The others are to continue to offset the costs of Covid-19 on agriculture, and to expand the Family Stabilization Program in Health and Social Services.
“Children in Solano County fare worse than children in the state overall on several indicators of child and family well-being, including the percentage of babies born at a healthy birth weight, the percentage of 3- and 4-year olds enrolled in pre-school, and third-grade math and reading proficiency rates,” a legislative proposal approved Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors states.
