He said various proposals were under consideration to improve water table.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting of the Small Dams Department. The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Small Dams Potohar region Executive Engineer Ghulam Rasool and other officials.
The commissioner said it was not appropriate to rely on underground alone to meet water needs.
He said it was inappropriate to use the vicinity of various small dams in Potohar for residential purposes as the adjoining areas could not be used for agricultural purposes.
The proposal to stop construction in the vicinity of small dams is also under consideration so that water of small dams could also be used for agricultural purposes, he added.
