The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen approved some event requests during its most-recent meeting.
According to unofficial minutes, the board approved a request by the Sweet Springs Restoration Foundation to hold a block party on July 23-24, which is scheduled to include a wine walk and entertainment.
Aldermen voted to close Miller Street from Main to Marshall Streets and to grant a liquor license.
Sweet Springs Home and School also was approved to hold the school carnival in the park from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 15. It also includes closing the Main Street entrance to the park from 3 to 7 p.m.
