TDS raises revenues to USD 1.3 billion but profit falls on less postpaid additions

US operator TDS said revenues for the first quarter rose to USD 1.318 billion from 1.261 billion the year before. The net profit fell however, to USD 57 million or USD 0.48 per share, from 69 million and 0.59 per share. CEO LeRoy Carlson said the company is now putting its focus on funding attractive investment opportunities, while also working to lower the cost of its balance sheet. The CEO said US Cellular has raised its guidance for the full-year after giving a strong performance in the first quarter and that investments in 5G and network modernisations are on track.
