Gill man being held on attempted murder charges

GILL — A Gill man is being held on attempted murder charges after police responded to a 911 call shortly before 2 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Wesley Johnson, 64, was arraigned in Greenfield District Court later Thursday on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm without an FID card and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, according to a press release from the Gill Police Department. Assistant District Attorney Ryan Scott handled the arraignment before Judge Laurie MacLeod, who ordered Johnson be held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing, which is set for Thursday, July 29.
