Carols by Candlelight co-organiser Don George says this year's carol-singing fundraiser will be live-streamed.
Organisers of a 53rd annual Timaru Christmas carol fundraiser hope to cater to the event’s longest-standing patrons by live-streaming the singing into rest homes.
With the Theatre Royal still closed for a multi-million dollar upgrade, Carols by Candlelight has shifted from the 1000-seat venue into Mountainview High School’s 400-seat auditorium for the second year running – compelling organisers to come up with ways to widen the concert’s reach.
Event co-organiser Don George said it was decided to live-stream the carol singing on social media, and talk with rest homes about setting up a feed in their living rooms.
