The Q1 report attributes much of the relatively strong position to a healthier than expected housing market. Revenue in the safety codes department is particularly strong.
âTheyâve already achieved at March 31 fifty per cent of their budgeted operational revenues,â Galon said.
âSpeaking with the safety codes team, we believe that to be due to higher-than-expected growth and new home sales, home renovations and new businesses starting up in the first quarter.â
She added that at âinitial glanceâ, it appeared as if the trend would continue through the second quarter.
âI think from a public perspective, the âgood news storyâ here is that weâre trending in the right direction,â councillor Alex Reed said following her presentation.
