More on this from some states after 7 o'clock nice today and also you heard yesterday on the show the awful story of what it's like when you are contacted on Facebook by someone who's purporting to be your dead grandmother this is what's happened to one Nottinghamshire beauty blogger and she was talking about that moment when actually she's trying to strike up a conversation with whoever this person was to try to find out a little bit more about why they were doing what they were doing and the person was replying to them as her grandmother awful situation to be in and then there was another call during the show yesterday from somebody else who had the same thing happen to them in her case it was her partner who died and 3 months later someone purporting to be her partner appeared on Facebook and wanted to be her friend so why would people do that why would they issue me the identity of someone who died and then proceed to try to get in touch with people who were family members and friends were you going to a little bit more about what the scam might actually be here or whether this is just simply a sick joke little bit more about why fraudsters would want to assure an identity online coming your way later on b.b.c. Radio Nottingham on the telly tonight I'll tell you a bit more about why. 22nd clip but we'll see which ends up on their getting room floor which actually makes it's never ever done television it takes hours and hours and hours and it's usually a 3 2nd clip actually I'm full. The Just keep. And people search for here I see right here nothing I'm on an on Thursday morning I think about that. Yeah yeah I know there's no bank holiday but last week I was convinced it was the day ahead of the day I actually was for the entire week and when I got to Thursday I was most disappointed that I still had another day today we're going for the weekend going to be coming out Gemini What do you do nothing else you're much better than verity in pointing out you know that's good to have you got thank thanks a lot what an acolyte let's look at the morning papers for you this morning the Daily Mail has another story about the doctor's strike they have this on the front page today doctors will stage the biggest strikes in n.h.s. History of the new contract that in one people will die as a result but they'll be a 5 day walkout by junior doctors each month until the end of the year from the Daily Mirror says before 7 pm to be a heart attacks it says here is a higher risk of a heart attack if you eat after 7 o'clock so I'm doomed and then I'll see him post has a story of a burn top. To be a McDonald's drive through McDonald's This is the we and you on there this driving path that are not all right and the scaffolding outside is going to be a drive through McDonald's as the poster in front of the sun reckons that Max Clifford of course is in jail at the moment former publicist who is accused of performing sex acts in front of a 28 year old woman during his jail visits. As you do. Well like Steve. 6 times on this morning's news serious. People have been found carrying knives in Nazi m should call into the latest police figures hospitals in England are making contingency plans for the series of unprecedented 5 day strikes planned by junior doctors and a controversial tip registration scheme comes into force in Nottinghamshire today is the weather forecast for today dry through the daytime some sunny spells mixed em but lots of cloud as well temperatures at 21 Celsius 70 found some spots of drizzle this evening and overnight but otherwise a dry night with 15 Celsius us 59 and Paul has the latest on the thing in his records it's not looking too bad in and around Nottingham city center no major problems or congestion so far the one area that was causing some delays from v.m. One at Junction 27 for Hartnell and that's been closed causing some delays awake she savors allowing closed on the exit slip road causing a bit of disruption there I mean works off the I 60 months feel road there to a major road works there the a 57 for the Millhouse roundabout. Some delays on Paul Jenkins the next trouble is in 15 minute. Rush hour travel every 15 minutes c.d.c. Radio not. So much is in the yeah I love you guys room I left. The radio no sing and makes you feel even Bassat Are you happy because they ever want to walk to a guitar shop Yeah I can remember the fridge. But I'd come in here together with the truck look at it if you're feeling Ok about no 2nd don't want to you know you. Remember I'm going to. Call. Us. Lived. In. But we need to talk about their stammering Ultravox Vienna which was the place on Sarah's megamix tour of Europe I suggested that perhaps she avoided with the kids because it's lovely I think for adults there's lots to do in Vienna for adults if you appreciate you know that very quaint essential architecture of that point of Europe and fancy dancing horses. And I'm struggling all the opera house was the Opera House. Us about it really so I was suggesting you didn't go and then you didn't go didn't you you completely ignored and I went with the words ringing in my ears for Monday which said you'll be dragging your kids around Vienna you're a cool mother. Insinuation it was wonderful it was amazing Vienna but we went to Sean Byrne palace which are like it's good it's beautiful and the gardens are amazing and there are there are mazes and labyrinth that the children obviously enjoyed and playground chats with and what you've got this grand house and then amazing grounds as well so beautiful and historically so important to you know to to world history really so that was great kids loved it we did peepin at the dancing horses but just to the stables you can do it for fracas quite expensive to go and see the Spanish Riding School so just Pete and expensive even if you just want to go to a training session Yeah so you compare you to go and just watch them doing their training so you see a little bit of the show because they're doing the training but you have to pay a fair bit for that we just watch the mucking out you know that was just the sex and then open our swimming is a thing in Vienna than if you know there's loads of fun not in December where were you when it was well it's in the summer by the Danube they're wonderful open ass having pools and with plumes and the like so obviously we went and then some parts of Europe nudity is quite a thing isn't it seems because you know that they're quite relaxed about about nudity so that was obviously fascinating for our children so they are. Better than television is so much because of my look but no no no no no actually yes maybe it is well there you are that's what you should do with your kids in Vienna. I was recommended by visually see radio not again Sarah Julian Ok I'm 24 minutes past 6 Sunday and Sarah breakfast people who don't own a television but use the b.b.c. Are a player to catch up on programmes must from today pay for a t.v. License. Until now there's been a loophole which meant using just this service had avoided the annual fake has Alex Crandon to explain what's changing and why to watch the good old fashioned telly in the corner of your immediate t.v. License and it's been that way for as long as most of us can remember when television broadcasts in the u.k. Came back after the 2nd World War it was decided to introduce a television license fee to pay for the service but it was 1st introduced on the 1st of June 1986 the license covered the black and white single channel b.b.c. Television service and cost $2.00 pounds fast forward to 969 and British path a news told us what happened to anyone who didn't pay out. And any. Number of well. Done house is a better deal for every one is subsidised. That was all well and good when T.V.'s were the only way to get the programmes we love but the technological avalanche of the invention of the Internet meant to new way of watching programmes whenever and wherever we wanted to watch any programmes of missed the news or sports used it for catch up with sport on t.v. Or watch any programme any time you want so really like it does and even things I might not see on t.v. Browse around which is good fun I think you know I kind of about 10 and there was the loophole you could legitimately avoid paying $145.00 pounds 50 per year for a standard color t.v. License if you limited your viewing to catch up to t.v. Services that means watching programs after they've been on t.v. Via your computer but not anymore from today your response. Q shit and a hefty fine if you download all the shows on i Player without a t.v. License if you've already got a license live telly and I player has all available for you to use if you're over 75 you don't need a t.v. License there are some other exemptions too but if you don't have a license and you do what she t.v. Shows via i Player you'll now need to buy one. So there the warning is very clear from today you must have a t.v. License to watch even the catch up services which you haven't had to have a t.v. License for before and if you're watching the telly turn on lights you can see Am day and a group of University of Nottingham guinea pigs doing what some of that is not the guinea pigs or beginning we like going to pigs do and I'll be doing exercises so now we're all going pigs we were volunteers in an experiment to see whether high intensity exercise can actually have a really big beneficial effect on your overall fitness and what I mean by high intensity exercise is not like jogging mama mama flea fastly for an hour every day we're talking about one minute of exercise really intense exercise and then a 92nd break and doing that 5 times 3 times a week that's 5 minutes of exercise 3 times a week in total 50 minutes of exercise a week can do in just 15 minutes of exercise in a week improve your fitness and bearing in mind I was already doing jogging and stuff like that anyway and the results have been astounding I think there's been quite a few studies about high intensity exercise and how it can benefit you over ordinary standards of exercise like just increasing your walking or things that are sort of moderate in there exercise kind of the can effect it has on you rather than high intensity stuff or you just have to really go and go for it so you'll hear a little bit more and obviously later on today show but you'll hear see a little bit more on the telly tonight a difference. It makes and so they filmed it they felt they're filming it in the film here because what they did is they assessed our fitness they gave us a whole range of exercises to do this sort of routine that we had to do 3 times a week and there are lots of different groups doing slightly different things and then all the results were collated a month later to see who had had an increase in fitness and who hadn't so I know the results of all of it can't tell you your thoughts the telly but the very surprising result which actually isn't to do with high intensity exercise it's the high intensity exercise stuff does sort of prove what you might think that it would be so proud to look at and they get completely out of breath of see them to and they and they are pretty exhausted this is on b.b.c. 2 tonight help more about it later on I've always wondered who volunteers for these kind of programs when you watch me think why would anybody volunteer for that guy on the telly day and then and now your name is Andy Whitaker and folks like him and I thought I was getting a free Fit Bit out of it so that was a great reason to volunteer and then at the end of the trial they took it offered. By 6 times an update on the news now on b.b.c. Radio Nottingham his Steve more people have been found carrying knives in Nazi I'm sure according to the plate his police figures there was a 15 percent increase in the number of knife crime was recorded in the 1st 6 months of the year compared to last year hospitals in England are making contingency plans for a series of 5 day strikes announced by junior doctors the latest wave of industrial action begins on September the 12th the controversial tip registration scheme comes into force in Nottinghamshire today it means you must have registered your address and vehicle to use one of the county's recycling centers there's a warning that the District Nursing Service in England is the breaking point the health think tank the king's Fearne says patients who need help are facing delays and at the frequency visit is being reduced a new play which centers on the life of an eccentric Nottingham should Juki is coming to Nottingham that you can. Portland built a series of tunnels underneath the well back Abbey estates in North Nazi and ship a new figures show that for the 1st time contactless credit card and debit cards are being used more often than checks to pay for goods who have a cache still the most popular method of payment news on b.b.c. Radio it's 29 minutes to say it is and it's time for an update on your weather forecast now dry throughout the day time for the September day some sunny spells mixed in with plenty of clouds and highs of 21 degree Celsius 70 degrees Fahrenheit a couple of spots a drizzle possible overnight otherwise it should be dry there my old Temperatures only answer 15 Celsius and tomorrow cloud here in cooler day with a couple of showers along the way plenty of dry weather there was well and highs reaching 19 degree Celsius polls government date for you now are not inches roads not doing too bad this early part of Thursday morning in Westbridge for the I 60 left for a road you will find one lane closed gas main work to judge the beach and road and rugby rugby road and certainly a 38 King's Mill Road east through our course tempering largest event of the junction of Sutton road and Kirkby road I'm Paul Jenkins says more trouble in 15 minutes. Whitaker said in Elvis some b.b.c. Radio l.c.m. Good morning it's kind of the 25 minutes to 7 o'clock Andy and Sarah at breakfast and a look at late morning spill after a very busy day yesterday and. In Chipperfield to tell you about it morning good morning it's pretty much all about Deadline Day which the deadline clock as it were ticked around to 11 o'clock yesterday and the transfer window closed quite busy locally actually in the end more with with outgoings at the City Ground than incomings but not smooth assigning a man who made a signing from Forest as well to give you a bit of a rundown forest wise in chemist after carrying all from Middlesbrough and leek up from Paul row on permanent deals and nickel are Dumitru from Napoli on a season long loan as well out load yesterday Tyler Walker out on loan to Stephen h. Dimitar f. Him off to s.c. On n.c. And I see activity went to Mansfield Jamie Ward to but now be in laws felt like late last night on a permanent deal to k.v. Court trike as well not brought in Aaron Collins from walls on loan till January Piper's full of it this morning I do sometimes wonder whether it's more of a media thing than a supportive thing I know lots of fans get very very. Area heated if you like about about transfer deadline just ask and he was watching The Great British Bake Off with one eye and what was going on in the world of football on his phone with the other one checking the chance but not a close one of my eyes. Which one would you have quoted it would be the cookie. How you are not a novice leave a perfectly happy to accept I'm in the wrong but if you're in a 1000000 people watch a cooking programme I just don't get it's not a cooking programme is not what you're doing wrong yeah it's a programme full of suspense and last night. It was the funniest thing I've seen on telly in years last night when celebrities are in it this year no celebrities in it this is ordinary people version celebrity versions already happened doesn't it so you know this is just ordinary folk voting area bakers baking last night you really do you know you can get so much enjoyment out of people building Riddick you. 1st things out of gingerbread trust me it was funny or was it one tragic heart all yeah all drama was I don't think we're going to win him over that I had to be fair I've only watched 15 minutes part was not long enough is it you can't make a decision and once I make decisions on all sorts in 15 minutes serials and I mean not great for series I mean t.v. Series I could be 15 minutes and there was a football games. So you don't you don't after 15 minutes go on leaving no some you do not know if you're going to go and I think you may be on telly are some I'll give 15 minutes of I suppose the answer you know if. This is about. The program. Last night not speed heart the poll in the f.l. Trophy a much maligned competition they won by 2 goals to one for just over a 1000 people the other thing we should mention today our Paralympic athletes fly out to Rio later today the likes of Ali Hinds shall Henschel Richard Whitehead many many others you'll hear from on the hind half 7 in the morning. The last season Paralympics on the back page when is they fly out but not today the it's all about the transfer deadline the Daily Mirror goes with born again as Arsenal's Jack Wilshere goes to the form of on loan for a season 1100000000 pounds is how much the Premier League clubs have spent in this transfer window 1100000000 pounds prize is now 150000000 yesterday alone yet in one day a 150 I mean I am a huge football fan do you think what this country do with 1100000000 pounds the back of the post far says we're back to coach we've signings and they say that Forrest will back fit Montagnier if you want to add more new faces to his squad in January according to our salary but there's a lot of anger and annoyance out there and I got 13000000 in for all of a Burke and spent about 300 grand over the last few days the Daily Star look back David Louise going back to Chelsea. Supplies at this transfer window who like Paul Popper as well at Manchester United who left the club a few years ago and gone back to have it Luis is another one who has about this from The Times Wilshere rejects Milan to sign for bomb. Well I was going to say cite. From the coach of the coast of. You know. To be said Fred but I think the point is that it's it's not been not as a football help bad but obviously there in the 2nd season very well run club and he's called for season and I don't want to Sunnydale you call people must. Such a. Good . Thing. Radio not again with Davies is handy and Sarah here at breakfast already been spending quite a bit of time talking about the bake off so if you did see it last night I'm still quite hopeful so very well she was sitting in doing a much better job than Sarah on the show the 1st time it's mentioned. She picked one particular contestant the she thought was going to win the Great British Bake Off Just from that picture and a very brief amount of information she gave she went he's the aerospace engineer from Northern Ireland who now lives in the Nottingham suburb of Darby and I went for Benjamin. And the reason I went for Benjamin is because she has a twin. Sister who is her biggest critic and to me if you're going to be a good baker you need a big critic you need someone who's prepared to just say it like it is and all the twins that I know the other twin will definitely say I like it so for me that was the key moment of why I went for Benjamin and things so far we're both doing or I want to know what you think yeah how do you want all my candies did well with that populist night she made a pop out of gingerbread with a sticky Ginger call picks every good pop needs to stick it on that she made agenda stick it into cake to make the carpet of the pub and she made a pool table that was impressive but it was it was too you must avoid things like Bear do you think Candy says one of these people who sort of makes out that she's not going to do very well and she's not tried and she's not really practiced and then comes up with the most amazing thing and you go back you did try. And each break it was tense it wasn't last night collapsing gingerbreads and churches churches just caving in on themselves at the very last moment carrying gingerbread houses up to the table at the front precariously to let em fall I could barely watch it you thought it was funny I thought it was when they turned collapsed I did think it was hilarious I could cry it was I could understand you know how sad she was I could understand the tears I just thought it was funny because it was just the way it collapsed and how much work had got into it I don't know maybe it's a boy thing I was driving around that very funny you know trudging kind of way it was good it was good the Great British Bake I've not seen yet can recommend catch up a license fail and yesterday it's coming out to b.b.c. Radio seems news headlines now of course to south. Beach is here with the latest new figures show more people have been found carrying knives in Nottinghamshire junior doctors are to hold 5 days of sick consecutive strike action next month as they step up their opposition to a new contract and the new play which centers on the life of an eccentric not again should you Chris. Coming to nothing I'm. Building a little bit now on the a 60. Street. Congestion. Junction 28. And. 27. On the roads surrounding junction. In 15 minutes. B.b.c. Radio. The most juicy peach you've ever seen. James. James Yes and it's not a giant base is very juicy delicious James and the average size juicy peaches and of the same source a really does not offer you a bite but it's looking like my old now yeah I would have to turn they've been tearing that for a while and we would have to look all over the place like you look at the tempting offer you know anyway. It's lovely day today 1st day of meteorological autumn and whatnot feels quite summery plenty of blue sky plenty of sunshine around throughout the daytime today and the temperature is going to climb up to around $21.00 degrees Celsius so yes nice day today but a cloud of feed into the picture later on but shouldn't spoil it for you looking good and then overnight tonight and into the early hours of Friday morning the temperatures are drops about 15 kind of dull and drizzly to Morris not as nice for day it will feel feel more autumnal to more kind of just cloudy overcast throughout the day time with a few light showers on and off as well and temperatures up to about 19 and then the weekend is a mess what are these areas a low pressure which is spinning up from the Atlantic is going to give us spells of heavy rain and some strong winds as well it's really not going to be all that pleasant throughout the weekend Saturday in particular lots of later stages of Saturday not looking that nice bottle of things at the minute and then Sunday at the moment looking like the slightly better of the 2 days but I think it's looking like a bit of a messy picture this weekend before then calms down a bit on Monday. Local thing to do this week after Bush lost is that you know speech it is close into You've got to be got to do it and you call your wife to believe she. Would never suggest as we did on June 5th and I don't never see them just a lot of time and other uses the cloths both of us tight just took away some new. Money. Shy us m p b c radio new album out on now that Sunday's been dropping some heavy hints about his birthday. It was so softly said that they don't know if this album will be out in time. Yeah very I won't be able to get it for me unfortunately I've just checked just in case you were interested and it's not until the 7th of October they all been. The song My It's very very reasonable if the rest of the album is as good as the song I'm talking of best by the way today is Barry Gibbs birthday all of the be . See which haven't got to give 70 today. And in celebration there is now going to introduce the thought for the day in the style of the b.g. I am not saying you asked me to do you asked me today that a few minutes ago and I said no. I'm not going to do it then you need to have bts back stuff. There's a human to celebrate now so much so I refuse that's what I said was over the day for this is a moan a man that comes from drew back said he is a human a celebrant from month Vale I'm not a very sporty person a plate bad golf quite well and that's about it really but countless others when the Olympics are on I become riveted to sports that I only watch every 4 years like synchronized diving I was watching the British view I will of Jock Laurie and Chris me as win the historic gold medal and I became very emotional seeing them celebrate the fabulous result of all the hard work to me deeply. I think glanced at some of the social media coverage and noticed that a friend had just suffered a bereavement this was one of those moments that truly highlights the unique nature and fragility of our existence here were some people crying with absolute joy and other people crying with objects outness at the same moment in time Robert Ingersoll wrote heart breaks a person dies a leaf or falls in the fall forest a baby's born on the great world sweeps on no matter the business of your everyday life the world in time sweeps on and eventually we all face the sadness of losing someone special Through my work as a funeral 7 are trying to acknowledge that sadness with honesty but can also try and bring some balance by offering people the chance to turn the clock back and revisit the golden moments of the shed past you may not ever win an Olympic gold medal but there will be days in your life when you'll almost certainly weep with joy let those tears mingle with the tears of sadness. Helpful to remember that in death you remain part of life as long as there's someone to remember you so one who shat in those golden moments. I. I I I. I I foresee that December 19th 63 you know what a night. So good in fact still singing about it now. 2016 on the way in just a bit on b.b.c. Radio not again you have heard on this program about a couple of cases and not even sure why dead people contacted their relatives on Facebook little bit more about whether this is some kind of sick joke or a scam in the next half an hour more about the number of people carrying knives in a big city. D.c. Leading to. I. The bombing at 7 o'clock time for an update on this morning's news on b.b.c. Radio Nottingham with Steve page more people have been found carrying knives in according to the latest police figures a dedicated team was introduced at the start of the year to bring down knife crime even mimic reports in the 1st 6 months of this year there was a 15 percent increase in knife crime compared to 2015 in leaching 21 year old a key was stabbed to death in Forest Fields people living here say they understand why some are still carrying knives everybody is trying to defend themselves against everybody else when I was at school I hung around with kids I don't want to feel safe when they walk in the streets and if I'm not with a group of people or them that you need to come in January a dedicated police knife crime team was introduced to increase patrols and you stop and search powers in areas like this the Force says a dramatic reduction in knife crime in the 1st 3 months of this year can be attributed to its work it also says the team is be her. In the 15 percent increase in crimes in the year to June by stopping more people and seizing more weapons hospitals in England are making contingency plans for a series of 5 day strikes announced by junior doctors the latest industrial action begins on September the 12th similar walkouts are planned each month for the rest of the year Hugh Pym reports this time hospital managers have had a lot less notice than they did when junior doctors in England last aged walkouts in April they'll have to postpone thousands of routine operations and plan rotors to allow consultants to cover their striking junior colleagues in emergency care and the latest round of walk outs will take place on 5 consecutive days rather than 2 which will make it the longest such action in the history of the n.h.s. The medical Royal College leaders meet today to discuss their collective position in May they brokered a deal to get both the government on the b.m.a. With ticket seller a.g.n. B.b.c. Radio. On the way on b.b.c. Radio once again I'm going to be finding out more about the healing power of Wades because you know when you sting yourself or in a Don't you need to dock leaf and is it just me other fewer Doc leaves around these days it certainly seems that way I'm really I know it's one of those things that is passed down from you know parents to children Oh if you sting yourself you need a doctor is that really in this modern day and age of 26 day in the best way to treat a nettle sting well always questions going to be answered in the next 15 minutes but 1st it's a subject never far from the headlines and that's not a crime there were 3 serious stoppings over the summer and a couple of weeks ago a brawl at a pub ended in 2 men getting superficial knife wounds now figures show that nothing I'm sure place has recorded a 15 percent rise in knife offenses so far this year compared to the same period last year that includes possession of knives not just incidents in which they were used by the police say they are working hard to tackle this problem b.b.c. Radio Nottingham's Nevin Malik has been to one part of Nottingham which has experienced a fatal stabbing earlier on this year this is. Russell road and Forest Fields where 21 year old a kid months high was stabbed to death in June 4 men aged between 18 and 24 g. The for no scam crown court later this month accused of his murder since the start of the areas like this have been targeted by a dedicated sniper trying to tame police say they've been increasing patrols and using their powers of stealth and search I've been asking people here if they've noticed a difference. Here I've heard just the feast opportunity let me especially in the calls me when I moved in in November there was one or 2 community protection officers of it now on a daily basis at least 3 or 4 street to see any evidence of people carrying knives anything that you're aware of I don't see the noise but I know the kind of people that do come in are so mean when I was at school I have. Kids I got myself so I think it's just mostly gangs ago when I was 1314 years old only to want to feel safe when they walk in the streets and if I'm not with a group of people or them that you need to carry a weapon I'd sooner stop and search No I've not seen it stop a search I've seen plenty of wardens walk up or down the streets but that's all I've seen and not seen and if you know how do you feel living I'm sorry I don't. Enjoy this and have you come across anyone or know of anyone he uses. I know a few people and they do it for valid reasons as to people who use them. Mark maybe don't lie to the people so they feel the need to carry it to keep themselves protected which is fair is stupid at the same time none of it should have anything . We have new figures that show a 15 percent increase in knife crime across the county a big spike in May In June when there were 70 offenses roughly a month does that surprise you or does it not. Well yes because I did believe that night it was getting better do you understand why or know why young men mainly would and do carry weapons most of them will say is for defense a lot of them believe the other person may be carrying a weapon which is why they do so it's a thing where those very few I believe hardly any actually go out with the intention of using it however. It does mean that I know more fistfight could turn it something quite dangerous and fatal because everybody's trying to defend themselves against everybody else Police say a dramatic 60 percent reduction in knife crime between January and March of this year can be attributed to the work of its knife crime It also says the team is behind the overall increase in knife crime a 15 percent in the year to June by stopping more people and seizing more weapons while no one from the force was available to appear on this morning's program but after 8 you're going to hear from a former not again gang member who now works with young people in a city areas to try and direct them towards a more positive way of life and if he can answer that kind of question about why more people might be carrying knives certainly more people have been found to be carrying knives according to the statistics but the police themselves also say that they believe more people are generally carrying knives Why would that be why would you need to carry a knife in not a game show so more to come later on b.b.c. Radio Nottingham. Breakfast d.c. Radio. Coming up in the next half an hour you member yesterday you had on this program a couple of cases very similar cases in the wet dead people have been in touch with their relatives on Facebook or so it seemed a someone of assumed the identity of a dead person on Facebook and tried to get in touch sent a friend request is this some sort of scam or is it. Just a weird joke is the fraudsters involved here we're going to get to the bottom of this for you before 8 o'clock on b.b.c. Radio not again but 1st a look at the morning papers from to The Daily Telegraph is talking about bricks it and this of course brainstorm which took place yesterday to resume a in her cabinet all meeting in the rather posh roundings of checkers to hammer out what Britain was going to do over the whole BRICs it debate now it will mean because she said that Anyway it says here that one thing that's been concluded is that there will be limits on migration and if you were one of the people who voted for BRICs it on the basis of immigration to reason may confirming that migration will be affected they'll be a limit on how many people can come into this country that's some good news in the newspapers today about out Simas and scientific research taking a huge leap forward according to The Times on the Daily Mail today some as drug is a great advance for suffering this could be a game changer and scientists held this new powerful treatment for Alzheimer's on the horizon as the best news in dementia research for a quarter of a century from the Daily Mirror has some bad news there if you eat after 7 pm like I do it says eating dinner after 7 pm puts you at greater risk of a heart attack as a warning from doctors basically having a big meal less than 2 hours before you go to bed has a bigger impact on your blood pressure levels night so generally as my wife usually doesn't finish work till between 6 and 7 pm So all of them are cooking on a day like there are and sugar and she'll have a bath we'll have something to eat talking about half past 7 at the earliest that we're eating and then of course if it's a day when I haven't had a nap in the afternoon I'll be going to bed at 9 o'clock so that's sort of half an hour after we finished having here all so I definitely do and yeah definitely I'm Manisha laughter 7 of you at the table that by that you see you read an article and in Sarah breakfast news headlines to come at quarter past. Another story in the paper today is for you if you don't have a television but if you use some of the services to catch up on programs up until now you've not really needed a license a t.v. License for that but from today you will there's been a kind of loophole which means you've been able to avoid the annual fete but from today if you watch things on catch up on a player you do need a license a t.v. License to be able to do that I don't want to have their check there how will they know who's looking I play and who isn't I don't think anything changes today does it I'm only guessing but I presume they'll have some kind of system on i Player eventually where I'm in maybe have to log in to use it the other day I watch something on all 4 was 1st time I've ever used all 4 and in order to see anything on all 4 of those free you have to register to do so so I play you just go to implode and play something don't you know I can't see why they wouldn't be able to introduce some kind of registration system where you have to put your license fee number in so it would be the old detector vans then they were to go around a 2nd ring around looking for people on their laptops The thing is there's a massive debate isn't over whether they were all a big con did they actually exist I think they existed because I remember seeing photos that all kinds of aerials in like weird control where they say. Yes I think they are I honestly don't know Donovan actually tallies watching the telly and I was in his his guard Ted They are not I'm not convinced but I did once go out in one of our broadcasts fear calls to a state in the team on Christmas Day And if you've ever seen one of our radio cars for b.b.c. Writing like writing alive and they got aerials on the top so that we can broadcast and it was Christmas Day and I was doing a live broadcast and a woman came out and asked the person Christmas morning and she shouted at me and she was absolutely furious she said I can't believe you're coming round ere on Christmas Day with the detector van on Christmas day. And I was actually I wasn't to tell you it just interviewing somebody about doing I was given away as always because we were taught well how dare you how dare you. About 7 times an update on the news on b.b.c. Radio asking in his state if more people have been found carrying knives in Nazi I'm sure according to the latest police figures hospitals in England are making contingency plans for the series of unprecedented 5 day strikes planned by junior doctors and a controversial to protest ration scheme comes into force in Nazi I'm sure today so you're trying to wring away in the background when we're talking about license you know in advance in this stuff online about whether these were real or not and I think probably we're the best we have heard is that a detective I went to the house in the morning and said to the woman you know going to see a license you know I'll get on to our party on the mantlepiece Muslims in later and they came round later on and the moments of the dog sort of have come to a license to settle the wife deals that I don't know whether it be the mounted or it's on the mantel piece right here in New York Times are good and it was without you. Today the forecast for Nottinghamshire dry throughout the daytime today with some sunny spells mixed in plenty of clouds 21 Celsius is the high 75 and highs there's a couple of spots a drizzle possible overnight otherwise it should be dry but it will be calm my old night temperatures only down 50 and tomorrow a cloudy and cooler day with a couple of showers and plenty of dry weather as well and highs getting. Up to 19 degrees Celsius so no date now or nothing I'm just wrote for you with the latest His poll we're seeing some very heavy traffic on the m one junction 26 from Nottingham and eastward on the end a 6 turn eastbound not all the 838 northbound of the 28 sets looking heavy as well I'm not junction 27 for help not alone in the world as there is a lying closed on the slip road I miss looking very busy I round there on that you 2 works on the 6 I liked the trams are running to time which is good news I'm Paul Jenkins when I travel in 15. Rush hour travel every 15 minutes cd seems radio. Montanus and on b.b.c. See I'm sure over the weekend has got on the day of the next few days we'll update you but full half past 7 the 1st country walks in green rolling hills I'm with September and prospect when she leaves underfoot I'm excited about autumn then when slime now is just suddenly it seems to appear from nowhere it's just seems like just yesterday it was the summer of the ploughing the failed sun. It's a perfect Wilks out in. With the family but you. My find this combination of weather we've had of sunshine and wet weather has made the wild Flora Flores and occasionally you'll be wading through weeds to waist height and if you have done that you probably suffer the consequences because some of those weeds are bound to be stinging nettles and is it just me do this seem to be fewer Doc leaves around these days to rub on your nasty sting or several stings I never seem to get just dumb ones when it happens to you well b.b.c. Radio City we come to is finding out whether they are the best things to use anyway this morning and she can tell you a little bit more has been investigating Good morning good morning yes well just off the rugby road in Westbridge bit there's a patch of grassland and to the other untrained eye it looks like it's full of weeds including some pretty sinister looking nettles now the n.h.s. Choices website actually says if you get stung by a Netto look out for a duck leaf to rub on the rash that's advice from the n.h.s. But what is the best way to treat a staying well I'm here with medical herbalists Catherine Bell chambers and she's with me now Catherine what is the best way well as you know from when you grew up the obvious way is just to find a duck leaf and you usually find those growing quite close to the things that will be signalled. And to just rub it on the staying. However we found that the best way to do it is actually to washed up in your mouth because they saliva helps to break out the things that will suit the staying and then apply the world of mashed up Dr Lee found Sting's Now I used to make this as a little girl I used to make Cliff potion and make my friend sting herself so that I could test out I think comics coming back to make is I might have to try this out in a 2nd now what are the. Healing qualities of Doc leaves well not the dark leaves themselves though they're quite They used as fodder but the roots have a really healing and protective effect on the liver so I use that when I working with people who have skin problems and also people have problems with their livers or who are taking lots of different medicines because they're very unwell because that just helps the liver to cope more effectively with the toxic things that has to break down and we've had a little impromptu you heard this more Dave you've made make me try lots of things and shoot random leaves I've never thought in my mouth before well if we go this side that's got healing qualities Well if you look closely probably pretty much everything including the grass has some sort of healing effect. Possibly excluding the bind wait I've never managed to find a healing use for buying we despite its abundance but we've got family which is great for us to make crams but it's also expectant so you can use it for cough problems fan no this is expensive things that you buy in the supermarket it's just growing wild yeah yeah absolutely I mean that's where everything started everything started in the wild and then we discovered that they were the nice from a half food taste better or they were useful as medicines and it's easy for a fight to say that these are a wife styles but I promise you old wives don't like being proven wrong. So they're basically not going to tell you something if it isn't going to work makes them look stupid and what else have we got so we've got fed no we've got Doc claves what else is here nettles fantastic medicine the leaves contain virtually every year a transmitter in the human body so they act as a real tonic either as a tea or as a tincture which is a mixture of alcohol and water in the herb and you soaked in that extracts all of the healing goodness from the plant now we've spoken about old wives' tales you medical have lessened use this a modern day medical use how long have these remedies been around well some herbal remedies referred to in the pyramids as long as 5000 years ago when we look at. Excavate burials you know as long as 610000 years ago we're finding remnants of precious hopes that were buried with those people to carry on their journey to the next life so we know that people have been using plants pretty much as long as people have been around and now I'm going to take myself on the air. So I'm in front of some pretty sinister looking stinging nettles as I've said before these are about waist high so do it because you'll be seeing all day Ok I have got some antihistamine cream as well just in case the doc doesn't work I'm sort of rubbing my arm into the net Oh oh I've just got one on my actually on my arm and on my finger so I got to chew they still play which we found in another place well it's only about 2 steps over that. Interests hearing you need to fix them spit in with it and you get this fresh. Oh it's quite bitter it is it's not something that you would eat as a aperitif though over there you've got sheep sorrow which is a member of the same family and that's a lovely sort of strong lemony flavor and of course the French will put pretty much anything green in a salad so you'd find sorrel and you know the smaller dandelion leaves as well. Like I said I've got something in my teeth probably. And I'm just wrapping this thing creating a nice green streak along my arm and actually I can feel the sting any more. So they all be wearing they screen straight for the rest of the morning but if you want to find out more from Catherine you can search for the Nottingham her blessed it's w w w dot not seeing him. Herbalist u.k. And she's also the director of the National Institute of Medical her place so she's got a bit of standing right now which is a good job as you know doing what she suggested don't ating don't clean you. And then your mother to tell you to stop. Tell me they're all well if they're really really sick because they reckon that scary. I can understand what they're talking about because I still have the duct between my teeth Ok did you move or tell you to not talk with your mouth full. So raise nature of radio so is it a. Very profound thing so it was a. Self on the radio spit maybe it was a spirit that made all the difference the healing power of this bit on your arm is b.b.c. And 15 behind you can hear commentary on the b.b.c. Sport website or not from 11 the small and well away from the holy Burley and panic of the transfer window closing Britain's Paralympians fly out to Rio de Janeiro later many athletes will be competing the likes of Richard Whitehead and Charlotte Henshaw amongst the 10 from our county heading out to Brazil another of them is 21 year old swimmer only high interim Mansfield who's hoping to add to the 3 medals he won at London 2012 I think it's just the expectations us and myself are really obviously I don't want to let my family and friends down there supporting me and supporting me as well into my swim but you know I've I've set myself a goal as I want to achieve I mean if I go out there and deliver performances you know I've got to be out the way that but now I'll be a line of a sell I will be disappointed if if I win gold you know I'm going there to win in as many events as possible if you see he said talking about 21 simply because that would mean they surpassed that So yeah it's a good do you set yourself individual targets and say well I therefore need to contribute this amount of medals did you get that specific about a space not so much looking at that way I was her set targets myself every year. Specifically times that I want to achieve. And you can kind of think that certain times are when Meadows. Obviously you can only control what you can control and how fast you swim. But I think I've always said I want to feel like I have a move on not improve since London was definitely a big goal for me I didn't want to feel like I'd wasted too wasted 4 years and I had already moved on so yeah going into reality I'm just looking to deliver you know past performance to pass wins and hopefully very much from. What you think in the 20 Well that's done now we've had 4 years since. The power let me. Think it was massive. I think you know that the public kind of watched the Paralympics and they saw people achieving things that they didn't think was possible. And it kind of built this legacy that we're all much superhumans and in a way. We can achieve things that the ordinary people can and also I think with the legacy inspire our kids to get into school you know disabled kids that didn't necessarily think there was a pathway for them that watch the Paralympics and I see you know all the athletes compete and thought. I could be me. And I think that's what sports. Day said by inspiring that next generation to to get in the pool or get on the track or whatever it is and kind of use use what they can and make the most of things and take every opportunity that's Mansfield's only Heinz who's one of 10 not against the athletes who fly out for the Paralympics in Rio later today and she scored on b.b.c. Show and what difference it might make to your life as well as had a momentous morning because I think this is one of those moments that you will of how it happens to you at times when you're watching the mileage a new car and all of a sudden it clicks around to that magic figure of 100000 miles it always feels like you don't know Miles and you're 7000 volved again it's like you've got a new car that clicks around the clock I always felt like this should be a telegram or some sort of something to market a milestone I would grab it from here to Vauxhall d.v.l.a. . So yeah 100000 miles if I felt like a lot to me but maybe maybe you've done many many more miles than that when you could when you go around the clock and maybe even halfway around again I don't know how far as your car when is your car done more than 100000 miles maybe many many more some people get rid of them if you don't know where you get anywhere near that and diesel cars are known for being able to go quite a lot longer as long as you service them properly $100000.00 nothing exposed a 145000 miles in 5. Because I do fare a few miles each day so I think that's a lot I read will be lots of people who have had cars that have done that clocking we've gone real way around a 100000 miles so what's the story behind us 59343434 when you text it's not place you message to anyone triples right. Here and say. It's 20 I don't see seems the same to you scams do appear to be rife these days from people trying to rip you off on the doorstep bogus paychecks virus on your e-mail all of these kind of things when you do get course how buy them and even if you're a savvy person they're always want to tell you that will catch you out and they can therefore cause distress and be very upset and yesterday on the show you had the story of the Nottingham ship beauty blogger Becky Sheeran who was really shocked when someone set up an online profile pretending to be her grandmother who passed away earlier on the show I want to set up an account with her name they lifted her profile by I decided that request it might be that it might be apparelled town so I sent a message that. He know and that she wouldn't reply and then at that point that mean Sharon is talking and that I started shaking you know that the law is and somebody has obviously got that account and they sent a necessary saying hey I saw it and I'm really excited Howie that that point we knew somebody had bought her account settings you know I think is becoming more common I mean I put something up my social media to so tell people that listen and I think if you know somebody you know you've been having a bit of a judge or also trying to get back to go I mean I know this happening more and more and he said look forward and they unfortunate thing is I guess people have passed away already to talk it because I know I went there and pleasure me so that was back you story you had that. About this time yesterday after that we had a message from Sue who lives in Willett and with a very similar story husband died and just 3 months after he died she received a friend request from a Facebook account set up in her husband's name and she was really upset about this understandably Becky So what is going on Joe Greene is a consumer affairs executive experience bit about identity fraud Good morning John and what do you think's going on here is a bit of a stranger on relays and I mean with id fraud through social media we know from last month the fast release details to say identity fraud had gone up 3 Social Media 150000 people that have been affected by identity through or through social media that's a rise of about 57 percent so we know social media is somewhat of a playground for fraudsters to be trying to get you details in this particular instance they are prying on the vulnerable it's quite easy to find out whether someone has passed away recently there are memorial size social media itself they could be clues that they are and that they have passed away and to get a photo of you details are quite easily online so in order to do that it's quite easy so what you would find here we don't know what the motives would be of this particular profile being set up but it could be some kind of phishing e-mail trying to get personal information from friends within that particular network or trying to find out Milt more details about the deceased in order to apply for credit in order to get some kind of financial gain and what kind of details would they be able to get from a Facebook friend so in terms of Facebook it completely depends on how much information is in the public domain a lot of people do like to broadcast their lives through social media so 9. Dresses in might be close to their addresses wherever they're posting from email address even stuff. Around pets names it could be a clue to what your passwords or member words might be and these could be really really good clues for fraudsters to be able to then apply for credit within your name so just to summarize what you think is happened that if somebody is found out that these people have died and then decided to set up an account in order to get information to commit fraud it is really scary the motives of why this was set up you know as you said it could be it could be some kind of sick joke it could be a way of. Barassi in a particular family or warfare it may be but we have seen cases that are particularly there to steal your your personal data just give you an example if say for example you are contacted by one of your friends you haven't spoken to him in a while you're not aware that they have passed away you get a message on Facebook or e-mail or any other kind of social media to say that they're in trouble they have. They need some kind of money that they're stuck in a foreign country the 1st thing that you're going to do good Samaritans is try and help them so maybe a case that you do send money over to them not knowing that they are the safest and it could be some kind of ploy by forces in order to get and any financial gain from you so what do we do to protect ourselves from things like this Well there is a lot for as I said earlier we do put a lot of information in the public domain we need to protect ourselves by limiting the people that can see that limiting it to your friends to your family if you if this has happened to you if you are a victim of fraud there are a number of organizations in which can help you and you are covered for any financial loss there are organizations like action fraud and Experian themselves have their eye specialist victims of fraud say in order to help people gain back their identity and get their credit writing back to where it needs to be so very upsetting the same time isn't what it was a lonely I'm juggling thank you Consumer Affairs executive. Thanks to nothing of course it's 14 minutes to wait it out. For an update on this morning's news headlines here stave you figure shame more people have been found carrying knives in Nottinghamshire junior doctors in England ought to hold 5 days of consecutive strike action next month and a new play which centers on the life of an eccentric not a game should you his coming to Nottingham to hear more about the play actually how it's all come about and a fascinating story behind it in the last half an hour this morning show it's 830 till 9 today and the day next is road his poll it's looking better on the m one southbound between junction 25 for Nottingham and 20 for a 4000000 sample size booked northbound on the m one this queuing traffic on the exit slip road the 27th for Hartnell I'm seeing slow traffic in from coats on the a $52.00 the road eastbound at the private island as we are in Kimberly v.a. 610 eastbound after the am one junction 26 looking very heavy around that I'm Paul Jenkins Unix Trouble is after the news that 8 o'clock. B.b.c. Radio missing a. Levy starts the day Charlie cites I can tell you how it's all going to pan out Good morning Deb good morning to you as a lovely starts the day yeah lots of blue sky lots of sunshine around and should be and I stated a really dry I'm fine with some sunshine for a time and all of that rhyme and as we go through the daytime today a little bit of cloud over into the picture but never enough to spoil it should hang on to some sunny spells and temperatures that are going to get up to probably somewhere around $21.00 today so your nice day and then overnight tonight into the early hours of Friday those temperatures will fall to about 15 degrees Celsius and they'll be some drizzle around and then tomorrow much more of an autumnal feel to things I should think as we go to the daytime on Friday it's going to Darwin cloudy and a bit drizzly with a few light showers as well in the temperatures on Friday struggle their way to about 18 and 19 degrees Celsius and the weekend going to be a bit of a mess unfortunately some low pressure which will bring with it so. Heavy rain some strong winds from the Atlantic had no wait for Saturday at the moment looking like it will arrive later on on Saturday and then Sunday slightly better of the 2 days but even Sunday is looking like it would be a dull and kind of drizzly one by the looks of things are not brilliant weekend thankfully it will improve again as we make our way through into the early stages the next week Ok not great September so Christmas yeah it's the way it is we're on a slippery slide slope all way down as it was going to Michael bublé is starting to stretch he's getting ready he's limbering up I do like seeing those some of those autumnal kind of signs so all the fields around dogs there's all of a sudden full of bales of straw bailing the diversity the harvesting not long ago now that on the bailing and I just love seeing those big round circular bales of straw infield somehow that feels nice it feels. Like the best years of autumn are on the way that you know we've lost 2 hours of daylight in the last month alone it doesn't surprise me so last night because I have to go a lot the chickens every night to go and lost a lot with chickens up and make sure that you know the father got a large As far as an article in the aisles of a and chicken and swimming pool so I notice what time it goes dark and I think if you don't have something that you do it dusk every night you probably don't notice it $815.00 last night which is not light is it $815.00 I was out looking the chickens up thinking it's only 850 you know looking at you kids up the same in the morning as well before I went off on my jollies I could cycling to work and it's still light it's light enough to do that thing in the pitch black mare Yes it's still dark 55 there where there is no great and all welcome this summer so what about baby names as you know and a new arrival very very soon very excited about this is chosen a name but if you're more excited than I am really joking. Is not saying anything about the name there probably wisely story in the newspapers today about baby names we regret choosing a survey reveals that almost one in 5 parents would pick a different. Name for their child if given a chance almost one in 5 so they talked to various parents online and they came up with a list of some of the names people regret Elsa is one from the from the film Frozen mum say they regret that while. What I suppose because it's become so common hasn't you know people talk about how people just as I say we really like the name Elsa if we were having a girl Elsa was on the list but then we also have an Anna and says I haven't Elsa. Would have ever would have thought it was all about frozen but we were the name before to me that put me off it found it was so common now you know they've also got a list in some of the papers today of some of the worst baby names from 2016. And I don't know who according to whom but never which is heaven backwards. And colon we should. Tell those along a new spin on call and. I know nobody got some advice because you reckon because I work in the world of contemporary media actually the baby's name should reflect that don't you yes because when it's have a of a name that was popular in the year that the baby was born oh that was in the news wanted to see the day lots of Jeremy's in the knees. Yeah Jeremy called Ben Jeremy Hunt Jeremy Paxman and Jeremy Clarkson when the news yesterday Jeremy Vine was in the news with the cycling incident so yeah Jeremy Jeremy then the answer there are many baby Jeremy's these days other Jeremy was Jeremy Whitaker but I'm not maybe part of the most can say b.b.c. Radio now to me. It's 9 minutes to I've been talking about how many miles you cars done today because Sarah has pay mentors morning because her car passed 100000 miles mines and 145000 sort of and that's very much a tour I suspect you may have had a car or still have a car that. I don't even more than that so what is the story behind the mileage of your car I said I do a lot of miles every day so I live out in the sticks is driving to and from work but then to be honest the rest of it generally is ferrying the kids around and over 5 years that my cars and a 145000 miles which is a lot of miles isn't it today I suspect there's a story behind why your car has done the miles that it's done and has been in touch it says mine's now done 182571 miles and it still runs like it's brand new I've had it 5 years now and it all comes down to servicing and basically looking after your car 182000 which month poultry 134343 4 The story behind a huge mileage that you maybe have on your clock maybe been around the clock perhaps almost twice and 3 for 3 full 34 texts one triple 3 Start a message with the word nots it's 7 minutes to 8 o'clock now if you were the victim of a crime do you think it would help to meet the perpetrator something called restorative justice and it involves bringing together those harmed by crime and those responsible for it and the idea is all those involved can play a part in putting things right it worked for nothing a man Jacob done he was jailed for manslaughter after knocking a stranger to the ground in the open market square his victim was trainee paramedic James Hodgkinson who died from that one punch 9 days later well 5 years on Jacob agreed to meet James this parents Joan and David to apologize they have since helped Jacob to turn his life around extraordinary story and Jacob spoke to b.b.c. Radio t M's social affairs correspondent Jamie ball early this year I ended up becoming bitter. In the whole process I was feeling as if I was the victim if I was the one I was hard done by growing interest and the thing is about her through that you're surrounded by people with similar fears. So instead of challenging my beliefs they were reinforced and so instead of because rehabilitated became more bitter more angry I was full of rage and bitterness. And they then having the courage to come forward put things into perspective for me I was able to. Start taking responsibility for what I don't appreciate the hard core Stover people like the 1st time you met them walking through the room at 1st. I got to the door and I stopped and school walking I didn't know what to do I didn't know a bit of them and they either know it's a shade hung. But we've been speaking for 2 and a half years for. Mediation and letters it took a bit of the pressure off it was a bit surreal because Room at the end of the me moved in the drinking tea and having biscuits and talking about the future we're just now and yet for the family it seems that hers had a big impact will group of them peace a system that should be available to all and they're calling on the Ministry of Justice to seek views on a legislative right to Restore is have Justice John Collins is the chief executive of the restorers have Justice Council. Good morning so in what circumstances does it happen now. Well the moment really over the last few years resources Justice has begun to develop in this country so that increasingly victims as they move through the criminal justice process of being offered an opportunity to meet their offender through a sort of Justice Conference and in the change of what the M.P.'s are looking for here that this would become a legislative right to restore receive justice how much that work well the idea is that that would ensure that every victim of crime is offered restorative justice or at least access to restore to justice service so we're not saying of course that every victim should have to take part of should be expected to take part it's about giving victims choices so they can choose to take part in a sort of justice if they want to should do so I mean every perpetrator they would have to take part. But it's very important the start of justice that both parties agree to take part it won't work if the offender doesn't want to be there so what it's really about is where there's an offender who's willing to take parts that the victim is then offered an opportunity to do so if they want to and the story you've just been hearing I mean there's a guy Nottingham guy who did meet 5 years later 5 years after one punch killed their son he met the parents of the man that he killed and they have had this big impact on his life how common a story is that well certainly what we know from from the evidence and from our own work is that where an offender meets the victims face to face or in this case the family of the victim you can have a huge impact in helping them to turn their lives around so that means they're much less likely to re-offend in the future which means fewer victims of crime so simple as that really is you put the 2 together and humans work it out they they start to heal. I mean it has to be a safe and properly managed process it has to be a train facilitator who manages the expectations and manages both sides but yes and in that sort of most basic sense putting the 2 parties in a room together allowing them to discuss what happens giving the victim an opportunity to ask any questions they might have and explain the impact the crimes had on them can be hugely powerful for both sides and yet I imagine so many of the victims are angry how do you cope with anger in a situation like that nothing wrong with sins of crime being angry you know you'd expect them to be in most cases this can be an opportunity for them to express their anger in a safe and manage way so they can actually explain to the offender what impact the crime tell them why they're so angry and have a difference on their life and that can be very important both in allowing them to get that out and explain that the person is cause that anger but also for the offender to recognise the damage they've done and how angry this person is and that can be very powerful for the offender to actually realize the impact of what they've done and how would you ensure the both perpetrators and victims didn't feel they've been sort of forced into this as you say they've got to want to do it haven't they it's not going to work but I imagine the might be a bit of pressure to do it. No he said it's very important that it's entirely voluntary on both sides Well that's about as having a properly trained facilitator whose job is to manage the process who prepares both parties safely and they need to be confidence that both parties want to type parts and that's why it's important to have a properly funded properly managed service because it's really important this is done properly because the benefits can be huge so we need to make sure the process is most properly to realise those benefits John Collins chief executive of the restorative justice Council on b.b.c. Radio Nottingham coming up in the next half an hour b.b.c. The morning has a morning the 1st of September and another doctor's strike is looming here how this might affect you 5 days of strikes in a row later this month and hear from both sides of this ongoing right now in the next 10 minutes or so it's a subject never far from discussion on this program knife crime there were 3 serious stabbings over the summer and just a couple of weeks ago a brawl as a pub and into man receiving superficial knife wounds Well now some police figures showing what's going on they show that knife crime is up despite a fall in violent crime not police recorded a 15 percent rise in knife offenses this year to date compared with the same time last year and that includes possession of knives not just incidents in which they were actually used the police say they're working hard to tackle the problem b.b.c. Radio not sing hymns Naveen Malik has been to one area of not again which has experienced a fatal stabbing earlier on this year this is Russell road in Forest Fields where 21 year old a key blood supply was stunned to death in June for men aged between $18.24 g. Of the 4 knots him crown court later this month accused of his murder since the start of the year areas like this I've been targeted by a dedicated knife trying to the police say they've been increasing patrols and using their powers of stealth in search I've been asking people here if they've noticed a difference. I've purchased at the feast opportunity but most especially in the cause when I moved in in November there was one or 2 community protection officers I think now on a daily basis there's at least 3 or 4 street to see any evidence of people carrying knives anything that you're aware of I don't see the knives but I know the kind of people that do come in us me when I was at school the whole thing around with kids I thought was off so I think it's just mostly goings. I want to feel safe in the local streets and if I'm not with a group of people or them that you need to come up with I know a few people and they do it for valid reason matters to people who use them you lot maybe don't write to the people so they feel the need to carry it to keep themselves protected which is fair but it's stupid at the same time we have new figures that show a 15 percent increase in knife crime across the county a big spike in May In June when there were 70 offenses roughly a month does that surprise you or does it not yes because I did believe that no it was getting better most of them will say is for difference it's a thing where those very few I believe hardly any actually go out with the intention of using it however. It does mean that I know more fistfights could turn into something quite dangerous and fatal police say a dramatic 60 percent reduction in knife crime between January and March of this year can be attributed to the work of its knife crime team it also says the team is behind the overall increase in knife crime of 15 percent in the year to June by stopping more people and seizing more weapons so what's going on with knives in the . Bass is the founder of the school of boxing he used to be in a gang in South and he works with young people at risk of getting involved Good morning good morning to try to understand this a little bit can you explain why young people might carry knives. There is you know lots and lots of reasons why young people carry knives some of it is to do with safety some of it is to do with Q dos some of them is to you know be in a gang and you want to feel or some of it is revenge you know and self-esteem and confidence as well you know so there's many reasons why young people carry knives they say safety somebody we heard from that and nothing I mentioned the word defense but it strikes me that his very dangerous thing to date Carina Yeah I mean it's you know recorded and it's well known on the street you know carrying a knife a lot of the times you the person who's carrying the knife will become the victim off a knife and get stabbed by the knife but you know the thing is safety revenge you know you carrying a knife I mean there's a lot of issues up in them sometimes it's pay pressure you know I mean I just want to give you a little example right if somebody gave a kid a camera and he says you can't take a picture now there's going to be a time where the kid gets the cameras ready happy wants to have the camera then 2nd day wants to use the camera same with a knife you know a kid gets a knife in his carrying it there's going to be a time when you know he wants to use and this is really was stuff that I'm talking about we have got issue not anger that a lot of people are turning their backs on and thinking that there isn't any issue we've got a very serious progressive issue because this is probably the 2nd or 3rd time that I've been on here and I've been hearing a lot of you know incidents on the street that people are getting stabbed people are carrying knives there's a lot of work to be done and we need to have a collective approach on doing the work I know that the police have got different figures. You know different ethnic minorities carrying knives but we need to break them. Around You know it says I think it was 65 percent of white ethnic minorities 39 percent of black but what we want to do right be any organizations you know I mean 16 percent Asian but I want to I would want to break them down and say all the Eastern Europeans are the emerging communities you know are they coming from creation Albania or their community from Eritrea you know we get in a lot of people coming over merging communities that are desensitized to violence and we will stab somebody in a blink of an eye do you know I mean so if we need to break them down to the broad have it across the board it's not this is it for all communities I'm just interested in the in the biggest as well so we've had this 15 percent rise in knife offenses this year and the police say this rise can be attributed to the fact that the going out stopping and searching people and finding more knives So is it the case the figures have gone up because more people are carrying knives or just the place of finding more lines in your opinion so I think there's you know a thing about people carrying more knives I think there's a lot of tension in the community at the moment especially with the bricks and especially with the high end tensions in you know racial discrimination is tough and I think people are feeling on safe from when people feel unsafe they want to take measures into their own hands and I think that this contribution to carrying knives you know I mean in consultations that we've gone in the community is show in and what coming to welcome you to become a place to deny what is right we've done a lot of consultations in school with and with young people and people going into schools and saying You mustn't carry knives is not safe kids are not engage into that not really work and it's not working what we do it's a very hard here in workshop what's which open not in school a box in a put together it's devised by x. Gang members like my soul. It's very real and realistic to the streets and it's very real and realistic to the young people it's very hard here in and you know after consultations and after you know asking the young people about how they felt after the workshop they said the radio understood it and they knew why they shouldn't carry a knife and that's what we've got to do we've got to raise awareness of consequences and we've got to educate these young people around why they shouldn't carry a knife how easy is to kill somebody and cause somebody serious harm and how easy it is for them to get a criminal record and how that can affect the rest of their life we need to make it relevant to them and it needs to be hard here in and we are trying to put a program together but we haven't got as much resources as we would like you know we want to be able to build capacity and we're asking for support from the local authority we're asking for support from the you know not income Shipley's I mean I was actually quite you know devastated when I realized that you know switch open not going to school of boxing or doing work internationally we've just come back from Brazil doing work in the favelas Yeah a local councillor in bridge war didn't know what we were doing you know I mean what were we were doing so we need a collective approach to this and we can't be put in our head in the sand anymore you know these knives when we talked about this last time there was a whole range of of naïf that were collected that the place was telling us about including things like machetes how people even in Nottingham carrying things that they always been people have been carrying them around for years have out and I'm there to put them in places like down your leg so the machete will just go down your leg you know they will disclose them in different places and they do carry the knives do not mean for you know for me just coming back on to my point these you know. Put in bins out and put in knives in a bank going to work in a young person's just saved open spend 2030 quid on buying a really nice knife we're definitely going to just stick it in a bin without awareness and education so the onus is pointless it's a promotional stone just to say that we're doing something to cause counteract knife crime but it's not going to work why don't we put them resources in some real hard here in stuff to make a real difference my son has passed thank you b.b.c. Radio Nottingham and in sorrow at breakfast Yeah interesting to hear that you got some reactions what you've been hearing as well of 159343434 is the number when you text it's not split the message to you want triple 3 coffee calls already is this morning as well another subject which is how many miles you caused to see what people driving around in cars what you've done an awful lot of miles some of those in just a bit 16 minutes past 8 days on this morning's news headlines now has Steve more people have been found carrying knives in Nottinghamshire according to the latest police figures the health circuitry says patients will suffer when junior doctors start a series of 5 day strikes next month and a controversial tip registration scheme comes into force in Nottingham ship today as he weather forecast for this Thursday morning it's a nice start it will stay dry through the day they'll be some sunshine mixed in with cloud as well highs of 21 Celsius 70 found hight a couple of spots of drizzle possible on and off throughout the night but otherwise dry with lows of 15 Celsius 59 found hight pulls up the latest on the counties writes its queuing on the exit slip road junction 27 the m one northbound at so. Rush hour travel every 15 minutes seat. He seemed radiant. Good morning so the miles on your clock pretty momentous day when a 100000 clicks up on your monitor is not what if you caught them all the 100000 miles because the op and to me this morning I thought that was pretty impressive although it seems that this is saying nothing because being smashed rain rain without a 1.2 fer panto which is done 189000 miles and still runs on like this like a Swiss watch Thank you Ray Dennis amounts for I was in a car club and the engines were big 2 lead to patrols and somehow 250001 the clock the rule is all change every 6 months all 3000 miles Ok you're all fresh and maybe your car will last year an awful long time here's a great story John good morning oh you have a well I'd accept tional vehicle I think Tell me about your vehicle. 974 trucking company. Or 778 you're not really very very desirable on the us well that's all we have with them so Mars and we've been all over the country to be honest haven't all of went to a lot of you know look how many miles is it on the clock. So long don't we don't look 3000 wouldn't don't flee not not going to. Where you know Miles I'm pretty when you bought it got quite a few miles on it yeah. About one 7th of the old Mit is like they are trying out of it on a different thing don't think it's going to be the new popular and it's not the case just to keep on top of the maintenance to think well look even with a vote on it people who think no water at all. Can go away. If they can have a lot of so many things and is it reliable. Off to 203000 all else. That was. Going to go but what about a most important question John what color is. You know all the blue. You never give me away all right we will do 971 v.w. Camper van the blue monkey is John will be driving it probably with 203500 miles on the clock and maybe you're driving around in something even more I don't know how to warn 59343434 is the number and when you text it's not a message to a one triple 3 and if you have got a car still a lot Miles will be a story behind why it's done so many miles obviously that when it's age but it may be that you're driving around in a car a lot of miles that is nowhere near that kind of age it's just that you do a lot of miles for a specific reason be interested in hearing what the reason actually is Montanus and on b.b.c. Radio Nottingham you know that feeling when you just driving around and around and around trying to find one car parking space they could be a new high tech solution and it's nothing in May this well hear all about it on Today show the latest health headlines out of the back of last night's bake off a bake off with a difference involving a mug cake with Mark Dennison today from 9 b.b.c. Radio nothing in the. Heart of a Robin Hood guarantee to be seen medium not. Coming up in the next 10 minutes find out what you need to do if you go to the tip today or in the next few weeks because this tip registration scheme for Nottinghamshire comes into force today you need to register and they will be checking live a tip for you before half past 8 1st even hearing the news about hospitals in England beginning to make contingency plans after the British Medical Association says junior doctors will strike for 5 days in a row the walkout starting on the 12th of this month means a dispute between the profession and the government of a new contract is asking. Now the shadow health secretary Diane Abbott says that junior doctors have no choice but to strike and she's calling for the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt to come back to the negotiating table they have been pushed into this by Jeremy Hunt's total mishandling of this dispute but I believe it's not too late for Jeremy Hunt to stop his idea of imposing a contract which is not going to create good relationships with health service staff. But hang on how has it got to this because back in May there was this deal that was negotiated between the government and the b.m.a. Which represents junior doctors what happened then was that was rejected by a vote so the junior doctors had their say on it they did not like the deal that the b.n.a. Had hammered out the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt says the latest strike action is devastating news for patients people will rightly OS themselves why the b.m.a. Who championed this deal as a good deal for doctors and a good deal for patients only in May are now saying that it's such a bad deal that they want to inflict the worst doctors' strike in n.h.s. History on patients making them absolutely miserable when he says that perhaps 100000 operations will have to be cancelled around a 1000000 hospital appointments will have to be postponed but Dr Ellen McCourt who chairs the b m A's junior doctors Committee warns if the new contracts are put into place patient care will be worse a contract which the government is imposing on junior doctors is very damaging to certain doctors because of this this will widen the gaps on our route as there will be fewer doctors to look after patients doctors will not want to work in the n.h.s. This contract means the future of our n.h.s. The future workforce is much thinner and that will have a much bigger impact upon our patients and that's a phrase you've often heard is no this dispute is about the future of the n.h.s. It's actually about pay so under the contract a basic pay would rise by around 10 percent on average and there would be a system of supply paid based on how many weekends a works but the union says that members feel that that contract doesn't do enough to reward those who work the most weekends and is unfair on part time workers as well there could be more disruption to come because the b.b.c. Understands that confidential papers drawn up by the b.m.a. Suggest that there could be 5 days of strikes each month for the rest of the year that's how serious this could all be. If it doesn't get sorted out it's 24 minutes past 8 o'clock now. G.t.c. Medium not in a. Couple of people been in touch actually today about knife crime in the wake of what you're hearing from Marcellus and from the police this morning so I can return to that subject shortly 1st this whole thing about tips if you had a recent clear out over the bank holiday and you've got a pile of junk ready for the tip listen closely today the controversial registration scheme to use the county council's recycling centers goes live and if you have not registered and your car is spot checked you could be turned away the idea behind it is that only people from will be able to use nothing in just tips Well you've heard about the story few times on b.b.c. Radio saying I'm back in May Jim creamer the Labor Council responsible for the environment explained the system is being put in place to save around $200000.00 pounds each year and we do need to have the random checks but we do have the random checks when occurring in September so we're given plenty of lead time for people be well aware of they're not supposed to be here at in our county residents when it comes to September that's the point will be turning them away and I think we are still well we're having roughly 800 people a day actually registering so it's actually extremely successful at the moment controversial idea there when there were calls to scrap it altogether Richard Butler a Conservative councillor completely disagrees with this game tips especially at busy times are getting queues I mean we're at West Richard at the moment and this goes very very busy especially in the weekends and bank holidays and so I've got this real vision in my mind of even more people having to queue up to get in to just to do the decent thing they want to do by disposing of their rubbish sensibly Richard Butler speaking to him Westbridge for he wasn't the only one raising concerns these people told b.b.c. Radio and what they thought of the new system why can't I use my driving license from a photograph. To prove the ties you live in toilet and still if not dump it in the middle of the council Square. Good it is easy yes you know you don't want people coming from way out somewhere else with friends registered and I. Phone I don't agree with it I believe you should be able to go to your local chip and use it and example while living being them I have a chip near me boxes for it which is about 3 or 4 miles want to go News it was called wherever it's West preferred because it's not my postcode it's an early postcode even though it's between not even grown from my grandfather's and n.g. Postcode bison afaik it just encourage employer to pay about it's more far more important issues to worry about and whether your typical to write to Mark in my view as long as your tipping in the right places it doesn't matter which one you use while I'm annoyed because I have to come here and draw I about 10 miles because they closed long everything I can which is my place is one which is very efficient very well run this is quite a small one you always have to queue up so I don't need a hassle of registering as well. What is the point of it really well you might find out in the moment because the day has arrived and you may well be check today and nothing interest hits b.b.c. Radio see I'm highly content is down at the tip in Westbridge fit to find out how it's working on a good morning yes I'm on the busy rugby road this morning and I've already seen a huge truck and about 10 or 11 cars in the last 20 or so I miss it minutes visiting this recycling center dropping off their unwanted bits and pieces and I'm told the top item this morning is garden waste and I'm actually with Jim Cramer the Labor councillor responsible for Environment Jim to push this through a spot checks are going to be taking place today how is it going to work well good morning we're going to work very easily we try to make the system as simple as possible when people come in if they've already registered in the sport check it out do research to spot check after you when they actually come in. They will be checked Spacek as I've already said and they were so green traffic light system green amber and red if they've already registered and this moment in time is 95000 people registered with 131000 vehicles already if they show a green no problem if they show a number they'll be asked to register and given a chance to register and won't be turned away if it shows red it means that say I'm given chances to register or to actually live in the county so they will be turned away. How were the staff actually going to do the spot checks is it the equal registration plates What what's the facility that they're going to be using will is vehicle registration plate but it's on an i Pad is not one of these much existence it's just a reasonable place so it's a spot check do it number plate check every now and then and if it shows green for no problems in the last set already that the other options will be to bring the road but it literally is a scorcher this is a busy recycling center people already concerned about how the staff going to juggle their regular work and spot checking as well or to some extent they already do that because people turn out regular people to try and turn up with trade waste regardless so they're used to it but they haven't actually trading on on this particular issue because some people may be turned away as we've had a lead in period since March actually. In May That's true plenty of up to shoot to know what's going on people who visit dissent on a regular basis of Riku cards leaflets and the chance to register and they've already said 95000 we were expecting 800005 the end of the year 95000 are not but. If people have changed address over the weekend say and they've registered but now their addresses change what will happen to them they're going no problem the system is actually live at the moment you can register 2 vehicles per hour so if you change you can still live rewrites Now if you move within not are you sure. You said No problem it's not register to push to register not to use or so all 12 sites will be open for use once you've registered and you can register the same day system you can register one car in the morning and then register you know the cars you have to do and if you change it or hire car for instance you can the register want to reregister them on what if you don't have a car if you don't have a car that's no so it's no different at the moment you know a lot so walk into the recycling center However if you do make an appointment there we're ready if you're going to be a score and that's your health or safety because of the. Moving vehicles here and heavy heavy lorries moving out as well with the stuff is being brought here so there we are Jim Cramer Labor councillor responsible for environment on the 1st day that the system has gone live and if you haven't already registered you can go to the Nottinghamshire County Council website or free phone 03058080 b.b.c. Radio seems highly competent and the tip well the tip is not in it at Westbridge for this is gone half past 8 now come on. Here with the latest news headlines people have been found carrying knives in North Sea I'm sure according to the latest police figures there was a 15 percent increase in the number of knife crimes recorded in the 1st 6 months of the year the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has accused the British Medical Association of unleashing the most devastating doctor strike in n.h.s. History you need doctors in England are striking for 5 successive days from September the 12th Now as you've been hearing if you're heading out to the tip in Nottingham should today you'll have to make sure you're registered 1st it's the 1st day of a controversial tip registration scheme people who don't own a t.v. To do and I've set myself the goals and you know I really want to keep them somewhat. Different it's not going to be. Going to be very aware thing I think before it's kind of the flip side it was weird having is there racing it to the book. I think now it's going to be the opposite it's going to be a way of him not being there not seeing him in the core room before the race and having that familiar face around you know Stefano my own I guess and that's pretty much so it was a pretty huge help and I think if you would your boy yeah definitely I was only 17 in London so it was all kind of new to me and having some there was it was a massive help he'd obviously been to Beijing and kind of done it before so. On the way before 9 today you can hear about this new play which is coming to not again and it's all based on a fascinating story the story of an eccentric Nottingham should do and the mysterious set of underground tunnels him or tent annoying I'll say Find out why Andy is on the telly tonight an exercise in and panting rather have a do hope they've chosen that clip because it well I hope they haven't got the funny having him panting and his son laughing at him whilst he was doing it thanks for your texts and your calls today on lots of issues but also about knife crime in the problem of people carrying knives in the city 9 343434 in the Meadows says people carrying knives just shows that they don't trust our police force we need to have trust in the police on us St Michael's been such as Well he says I've lost count a long time ago actually of the grieving parents that I've met who struggle to equate the sweet child that they want bounced on their knee with the corpse in front of them son having been stabbed to death in gangland vengeance so many speak of the necessity of carrying a knife for protection but protection from what someone else is knife a gun the resources on there to remove these gangs the most notorious of which locally ends with m p r which stands for money power respect says it all really doesn't it thank you Michael Adams been in touch he's in high school in green and has been confronted by people carrying knives on the phone now morning Adam who wanted So what's happened to you regarding knives. Well I'm prouder of were quite a few. Not books my face of other not so much wrote about just what it were that we were in our eyes. Well not just as well or in different circumstances are used to carry one when I was a kid then I realised. Why I don't download pizza and ice is exactly out extension of Coleridge want to show now if it. Strips away everything else they've got and they run away while you carrying on them is when I was very very young again was being discussed everybody else was. Peer pressure I wasn't in any gangs or anything but it was peer pressure is not me as a total reading it was a colleague quite used to just keep it with me and you can. Do the you know I never used it except as a tool. Doing all the stuff to know and I never used it. In my nature to the guy my carry on if you know you. Well says I was young and stupid everybody else on you was was to fill a bit protected but then I grew up I got older wiser and I saw how cowardly it ready was and learned. The full defenses of said to disarm somebody with a knife or a weapon. And in my experience most people who pull a knife on you or a weapon or really just want to scare you power which doesn't work with me because every time they've pulled something. I've gone after them for chase them off and they quickly turn and run because I have one saying no you're not afraid of the knife they have nothing else left that's pretty scary there isn't a face I mean why do you think why why have you got these because then the more people are being found carrying knives and nothing him why is it such a problem I think it's a bit of both want peace and to an influx because. You hear about it kids want to carry them for safety because they don't have anything couse. I'm not condoning what they should do that they should do with your lack of . Talks like a lot of sites are not got work any day any day but the noise is knowing what to do in them situation what about money can buy more arms thanks very much for giving us a call fascinating adamant Hyson Green b.b.c. Radio. B.b.c. Radio it's. So high intensity exercise makes me tired just thinking about it just writing it is all the rage at the moment so you do something to full capacity full pelt you really go for it but for a short period of time a study being done by the University of Nottingham Medical School has been looking into whether it really is any good for you and tonight the results will be shown on b.b.c. 2 stressed me on the docks at 8 o'clock I guess isn't it guess is on the show and you were sick a part of a group of volunteers involved yeah I'm so they made us do is they assessed our fitness and then 4 weeks later they over that 4 week period gave us a routine number of exercises to do these high intensity exercises so it was 3 different exercises 5 sessions of exercise totaling 5 minutes 3 times a week and we sounds like a lot when you added it up over the entire week that was only 15 minutes of exercise but it was high intensity exercise and then 4 weeks later they assessed all fitness again to see what changed here are some of the highlights of the 4 week testing period starting with the 1st day being assessed at the medical school. Handy run into Monday and then goes to the c.g. It is fine to be. Widely. Planned my day. Month of on last. Month that come on come on we're doing the bike thing you said it would break of the I was dreading the bycatch lay and having the the mask on my face and it felt a bit oppressive but actually it was just the last minute or 2 when it got really really tough and then I was just clutch it was a lie. You know you made it very similarly if a really good time has been good for you has made you think a lot about the exercise you don't. The bike was tough but it's nice to get pushed out of your comfort zone sometimes the really good. Doctor back in charge how do you think it's gone today yeah it's been really good I think everyone's purposely like given the rule and I think they're all quite excited to see whether this session make a difference. Is really funny because it's quite unusual to see it out there in exercises in Taiwan in. And what we're doing with the camera exactly via video when you're in send in snap chats to my sister because she was very funny. So yesterday she went and he went for the filming I think is a bit nervous he went to meet presenter Dr Christopher. But it turns out is no stranger to high intensity exercise so yeah absolutely sure used to. Qualify rover at university and I was in the military for a few years and army training is generally just ultra high intensity thrashing until you vomit or collapse so. Yeah I do and I'm very impressed with anyone who was able to do it in their in their living room because I could only do it when I was I'd be motivated by a directing stuff or drill sergeant So I think I think it's the time saved. Com is the nastiness compensated for by by by the fact it's rather difficult to do. If it was no drill sergeant for me just George taking photos and laughing at me I am however I do have my results here so the bike test that referred to there is actually known as a v o 2 max test and that's what is routinely used to decide how fits you are so the before and afters were compared and after just doing 15 minutes of exercise a week but high intensity exercise my fitness improved by 14 percent that's amazing in 4 yes which is pretty impressive some of those who did have people shouting at them improved even more than that and obviously your see the entire results of whether it's any good for you or not but tonight on the telly 8 o'clock b.b.c. 2 Trust me I'm a doctor they fill me for hours are probably on for up 22nd this. Did you keep it up there I kept it up for a little while I've got what the trouble was during the time of doing the high intensity stuff I didn't really have the energy to go jogging as well which is what used to be doing so for that 4 weeks I didn't do any jogging what I've done since then has reverted back to doing the joking and maybe one session of the high intensity stuff awake but I'm done anything for 2 weeks I really need to sort myself out and get back on the bike her back on the road the rest of results what it's an eye on b.b.c. Should have that for the vast majority of the day time today a little bit of cloud is going to build into the picture as the day goes by but still not a bad day at all were plenty of sunshine and temperatures that are going to get up to probably somewhere around $21.00 degrees overnight tonight the temperatures will fall to 15 will be some cloud around a few spots a drizzle and then tomorrow is a much more autumnal day is kind of dull and cloudy and overcast and there will be a few showers around on and off throughout the daytime so yeah a much poorer day on Friday in the temperatures will struggle as a result though gets about 18 or 19 the weekend is also going to be a bit of a struggle weather wise there's lots of low pressure around which is going to spin in from the Atlantic and on Saturday there is the risk of some heavy rains some strong winds and temperatures that will get sore around 18 degrees Celsius the the worst of the weather at the moment looks like it's going to be soft later on on Saturday and then Sunday should be slightly better than Saturday but it's still not going to exactly be a brilliant day weather wise that the better weather returns on Monday when everybody goes back to work in school when you know it thank you very much telly apologies for that creaking noise it's my are you sure that was not my son or. Any other part of my anatomy. Is it creaky chance it had just to trick me out. It was definitely the. Kind of thing I sing me that note yet a bit later on this morning making mug cakes across the bacon for us on telly last night we'll do our own version merch Are you really making a cake in a moat it's got to be better than a cupcake because you get more and more going to bigger capering point they do in a microwave as well I'm not yeah yeah it's sort of like I'm not sure if Mary Berry would react approve of this shit she's what I so she pulls That's right I don't really care so I will give this a go but later on health headlines as well also a new tool this is nothing made pretty high tech is will help you find a parking spot without having to drive Iran and Iran or details on that just before 10 o'clock am for annoying are we talking about the b.b.c. License fee in the news today as you've been hearing if you use the i Player and you don't have a t.v. You now have to pay for t.v. . License from today's been a slight loophole for the last few years so I would like to know from you what value do you get from your license fee I $3.00 for 3 for 3 for stepping away from that and let rip from 1 o'clock heated debate on the way only nice things about this radio station naturally is that liberal it's kind of the room show you can impose Kavya thought that really really all right just talk about anything you like I'm still interested in the detective and I never got to the bottom of that whether they really exist or whether just a fake Well they just fans going around with the latest account Yeah they're trying to work out how they're going to enforce this with people watching and i Player as well and we've just discovered something quite interesting Basically if you are downloading something at home that's Ok as soon as you go and plug in your device presumably to charge it say someone else's house say if I come to your I'm going to t.v. License then you are liable for what I don't think you filling around dogs or locked up in my front room because I'm in your property now your force that who knows because they're saying they're not going to be monitoring what I find everything so how do you know and also the need to monitor whether you're plugged in or not exactly how would they know whether you charge this you know I think B.B.C.'s got little tiny tiny little rodents maybe who are inside electricity cables that that's exactly what I was looking for not ro nanobots Yes Yeah you needn't worry too much about the situation we're going to end is half because he went in. Put up an anchor and after I keep saying that there are willing value around at some point in time yeah eventually yes in 20 mean time I walked a minister line and in Sarah breakfast on b.b.c. Radio I see him been talking amongst other things today about the number of miles that your vehicle has done and it seems loads of people driving around in cars stroke lorries that have done lots of miles and mention the lorries because Robin Westbridge has been such about this he says most long distance lorries can be doing around a 100000 miles a year so. Therefore it's not unusual to have a truck even a fairly new truck with half a 1000000 miles on the clock Wow John a new book says there's a thought that a car with a diesel engine isn't properly broken in until it's done a quarter of a 1000000 miles so that's why they're so expensive the engines last a lot longer and good to hear your stories today very much enjoyed and all of your comments in fact there's quite a few comments as well today on other subjects about you some of those just before we finish today 1st between the mining industry the tales from the lace industry the stories of Robin Hood with his merry men not a game is certainly steeped in history is no one area of Nottingham sure rich in eccentric yarns which you might be less familiar with though is well back our big tucked away in show would forests in North Nottinghamshire with a huge network of mysterious tunnels built under the estate it's inspired Nick would not say I'm sure playwright to write a play based on the tunnels and the man behind that construction had lived next thanks for coming and I am also fascinated by that you could Portland and those tunnels do they really exist you know they really exist yes you can go down into them now but they do really exist there was an exhibition of pictures of the holly gallery last year and they made a film where they took a camera through all of the channels and the rate of the history of them is fascinating whether they go well they go out from. The Abbey itself like spokes of we all points of the compass north south east west and then in maturing and they go to Gate houses I mean there were rumors that he had one that went to work station so he could get there completely unseen that's just one of the things myths that grew up about him and he's an interesting man eccentric man what do you know about him well. In one way not a lot it's important to say that the play the underground man comes from Mick Jackson's book a short listed novel which is a fictionalization of the Jewish life now the real Juke was a soldier and then he stepped into the succession and nobody really knows why he became increasingly reclusive. In terms of everybody else who was outside is a state he spent a lot of time with the people who were working in the estate and talk to them but he never really had much to do with anybody else never went very far occasionally down to London but that was about it really so that its mission behind the tunnels is that he wanted to be secret. I'm not sure I don't think there really is an explanation I think we can draw a parallel with the work of the juicer Chuck Chatsworth and Wentworth in in the depression the 1020s if you go around the lady Bower area you'll find lots and lots of follies they build to provide employment for people and he's supposed to be mad this guy but I mean what he was doing was implying employer providing employment for up to about 5000 people in the local area with these various building projects I mean he was a man who was fascinated by the new developments in science and technology I mean his underground ballroom used this was the at the time the largest unsupported span on the ground using this amazing sort of technology which the Victorians invented using iron and steel I mean this wasn't a deliberate on this wasn't somebody who just did things on a whim these were planned meticulously and I'm just glad you're all right in the scene that I have apparently his artistic director Joss craft is said to have danced in that well I've been we've we've not been out of verified that I thought that it once it's really yeah I went to the underground ball when it was being used as an Army training college All right yeah so they took me down and it was being used as a paid section gym so there was a basketball court that embankment and caught a moment Jackson went down there around that time that's when he got the heart the idea of the story and started thinking Now that's a that's a good way and intriguing isn't that so why did it have an underground ball when do you think. Because he could I think I mean he had a huge you know huge room built for for male parties you know actually admitting that it's some great smoking room but never ever invited anyone to come to it and nor the biggest indoor riding school in Europe nobody ever used it so how difficult was it to put all of this on the stage . Well quite difficult initially because MC's book is written in diary form and the diary is reflective and you want things to be proactive on the stage it was helped by the fact that we have a cast of 2 from a.j. T.c.f. That the actor who are co-produces McKinney and who are playing all the characters so I knew the actors. And once once I talked to Mick Jackson and he said look and showed in the 1st draft and he said look you don't have to put every scene you know it's yours now feel free which was a lovely thing from one writer's say to another then it was just the usual process of just trying to make the characters mine and trying to make the story work it's a fascinating story if you go and see it this is being put on notting and playhouse later this month Nick what nothing of supply playwright thank you very much. Pvc radio not in. 3 minutes to 9 so lots of thoughts today about different subjects on the sporting show you hearing about the tip registration scheme for instance earlier on which comes into force today in not a game show this means basically you have to live in not a game show in order to dump any waste. Refuse center. Even not a game set spin a lot of information about this registration scheme bird so you're talking like there hasn't been any more information that have been massive signs put up so people really ought to know about the new process now Clive says maybe John Sherwood doesn't because he's got Question Do you have to register for the tips if are in the city the answer to that is no it's not County Council scheme but if you're in the city you won't be able to go to a county tip here but if you're a nazi I'm sure you'll be able to go to knotts again. So it'll work one way but not the other only less at some point down the line the city council goes hang on all these people from Nottingham should our dumping their waste and our people are allowed to go over the border so maybe we'll introduce a scheme like that I have no idea whether the city council are planning to do that but certainly over councils up and down the country are looking at similar kinds of schemes at the moment and there's also comments about other bits and bobs so the knife crime marks been in search he says knife culture was around 30 odd years ago I saved a mate from getting stabbed by kicking a knife from a lad's hand certain bit of drama in Mark's life at that point and Julie's been in touch thanks for you a mouse they've been listening with interest to report into a few minutes ago and I'm sad to say this issue has been going on for years the problem with knife crime for instance in the eighty's I remember knives regularly used in fights around the timers in Bristol and there were lots of phone ins on the radio about the problem of young people carrying knives and feeling brave because they had a weapon and this was more likely to get volved in a fight and sometimes fatally it was a points out there's a film made not so long ago premiered at the Broadway cinema in Nottingham following 2 fatalities in the city on knife crime so what no idea what the answer is but it's an issue plaguing city.
