Emerging super hero she was like 1st introduce And I think 2015 still really like relatively new and sort of rising in the ranks to being one of the next big superheroes aren't she's actually Captain Marvel is like protege so kept Marvel takes under her wing and sort of like helps show her the ropes in terms of superhero ing and so that's how they have that little connection. She's a huge fan of Captain like that tomorrow voice her idol. And she just so she she's like grows up with a normal kid from New Jersey and then one day she gets hit by the charity and missed. Unlocks her superhuman genius and she becomes a superhero. And it's amazing how did you get into the whole universe because it's something that's huge nowadays isn't it I was watching model films since I was a kid my dad used to be huge fans of like the old model comics used to read the old Spider-Man comics I was on X.-Men and you know Tobey Maguire Spider-Man even though he gets the much sticks right now. It's just something I've been to really blow up with and I remember watching Finding Iron Man Oh my God on a pirate D.V.D. Like from one of his mates his mates just went I mean really that came out it was Iron Man and I I honestly watched him with my dad at least 6 times in a few months I was obsessed with it always just like oh my God this is so cool I call believe like 2 pair as a really. So ever since I was I was like you know 6 or 7 I've known about superheroes and a love I'm being a massive No You know what change things like and I'm a. Movie I used to watch things like Gladiator and stuff with my dad so very much in the realm of you know good guys bad guys and you know good prevails and always lose it isn't all of that what is happening with that character because as I understand it it's still in the comic books right and obviously a lot of these comic books are being turned into kind of film or T.V. At a patient so what's happening with Miss Malvo was the pot on. So currently Miss mobile is obviously being introduced in several comic book universes she's like being tied in with characters like Iron Man by the man she becomes the leader for the New Avengers which is something they know a lot of people know there's a there's a series called The all new or different vendors and Miss model actually basically becomes Captain Marvel and she runs the joint like she like gives orders and she takes care of the rest of the team so in the comics about sort of her direction and Kevin Feigley announced last year the producer I think is like the head producer of Marvel Studios the mobile Cinematic Universe he announced that Miss Marvel was going to be introduced by some way shape or form into the M.C.U. Which is obviously the movies and the T.V. Shows that tie in as we know it and it was think it was like last week or something they made a press announcement at D 23 which is the biggest Disney Expo in the world where Disney obviously announced where their forthcoming projects they announced that she was going to get a Disney park series that would eventually tie her into the M.C.U. Movie heart and Charlize which is obviously really exciting. Exciting indeed Safiya in. An actress that talking to you and you getting hear more from her after some do it now that you call me. Always in a bit of it in Nottingham with my partner and he was walking around with me and he's like this figurine and the little glass cap and he points and he was like I don't know exactly you. Was like Who is that and I just walked up to it and it was this little figurine it was very obviously a little brown girl in a superhero costume that's not going to do that is that he was like that's Miss morrow don't you know her and I was like. Miss Marple war it was a hang on Google's it shows me and I was I still don't know what you're getting up and he just runs around the shop for a 2nd and grabs this comic book shelves into my hand like it's actually you. I just looked through and I literally cried I just burst into tears like Bless my remark you just. Don't want me crying for it at. Because the 1st going to afflict the pages one of the 1st things I saw was. In a shop that a friend works out and her face is like pressed up against the count and she's looking at the harami infidel meat on the counter and she's like talking about how like she kind of wishes she could taste it and she's with her Muslim friend Nakia And she I just cried I literally drop to the floor in a bowl and started crying and I just like a con actually described war how can it in the pit was something so amazing that I swore I swore her and me at the same time and I kept looking through the comics and I was like I was it was to read it but I was like just little still's of like she's writing fan fiction in her bedroom when her mom thinks she's doing her homework and then she's like playing video games with her friends online playing like wood or Croft and I just cried and cried and cried I think I was up to like a good 10 minutes just on the floor and one of the guys who worked in for that implant and I ran over to me I was like Are you OK and I was like yeah no I'm absolutely fine. That's what I did yeah and that's how hard it hit me I don't think anyone understands how much that character meant to me in that moment and every moment since then I'm literally like Mark just like lifted me up from the floor he's like oh you're OK and I was shaking and I was like Babe I'm fine and I literally grabbed every comic of hers I could see in front of my face they didn't have a law but they had enough for me to like build my 1st bit of a collection and I ran straight to the counter I wasn't even you Merrick woulda I didn't even care I just grabbed every comic I could see and then just dashed in front of the counter I think I spent like 80 quid in that one little bit just almost model stock and I just. That was it for me I was done I was like she she is everything I want to be and I'm going to play her one day and he was like yeah you are like I thought it was like Absolutely you are and it's like I kid you know or about a week or 2 later that's when Kevin Kevin if I get made the announcement that Mr Malvo was going to be introduced into the MC you freaky right. Up until this point and of course there was the kind of infinity Wars films it was part one last year in the end game came out earlier this year and it's kind of like wrapped up this whole phase if you will. Of Marvel and now the kind of working on the next part of the next sort of group of SCI superheroes that they want to make films about T.V. Series that sort of thing and one of the latest things that they've announced is they going to do a T.V. Series a Disney T.V. Series on a character called Miss Marvel so that is the character that Safiya wants to play she's passionate about the character as you've been hearing so far this evening but would not even dition insight yet Saffy has been doing what she can to to get ahead name out there and become a potential candidate to play that role to play the character of Miss Marvel how she going to do it while. I talked to her about that when I chatted to recently in this is what she said I mean I've just been doing the things I feel necessary so I've just been working hard on myself physically training so I can get stronger than I than I have been literally at that point I am physically right now I've never been stronger in my whole life I've been taking martial arts lessons again studying gymnastics Juno the sort of things that you just hear that Marvel actors have to go through in order to get roles. In order to I when they get the roles and they start training and I like what she's like I watch kept models training videos and I'd be watching the kind of things that she'd be doing like to welcome her strength. And in terms of putting myself out there I very much like I was like you know in the name of a lot put in this energy you know I grabbed my friend one day I made this cost play a couple minutes at home a lightning bolt on a jump I board and I was like let's go let's go find a location let's just take some pictures like slowly working my way up to feeling like that character and then just telling people telling my team so telling my agent like I literally run my agent and I was like So have you heard the news and she was like well I explained everything to her I was like this is this is going to happen for me even if we just even if I just would assure her that would be the closest I can get for it she's like software on it like we have every bit of faith in you this isn't something that we're going to sit there and say is unrealistic we can we can do it we can get you there have you had anything about dish in casting calls or anything for the role yet so you know. On this lady if I did I wouldn't be able to turn to you. You know it could be a great everything very hush hush like literally to the point where you know they'll be in the middle of filming and they still wouldn't have announced anything like it's a very very under wraps. I mean they've only just announced the rights they haven't even a director Yeah I think they still put the creative team together you're up against a really really tough competition is the go from Block A is that I saw off the top I had at this quite a few of the quite accomplished actresses So how how confident do you feel about that in the part like I know it's kind of a way away yet but given everything taken everything into consideration how do you feel about it so scary and it's something that I've wanted for quite a while I mean technically since I was a kid. I hated everything I do on in a very positive way but now there's also millions of other South Asian actresses who are going to be gunning for the role and I just feel like as long as I'm passionate as long as I stay hardworking Like I've said I even said this in like my tweets that you know the creators of Miss Marvel I'm like like commented on I genuinely I would honestly not give anything this would be amazing but all it's making me do with all is make me do is be a stronger act stronger professional a better person and that's just me channeling the energy to want to become Miss Marvel What do you want kind of people to know do you want people's backing like would you want to get out of this in a weird way my name on people's lips would be known I dislike knowing that there's someone out there a British Muslim actress out there who has no lobbying for this in a way that probably are not a no a lot of people are I can't let you go without asking you about and game. Pure emotion me me not to care because they were all part of my childhood like you know if you were wrong to be not emotionally invested you know what I mean I totally know what Safai means that that is.
