Children to college. We give back every day to this country that we love. In fact my parents are the only parents in our nations 240 year history to send not one, but two daughters to be United States congress. Mother and father saved and sacrifice to achieve the American Dream for our family. They were not handed their success. They earned it. Immigrants like my parents are working and contributing to the success of the country every day. They are starting businesses that create jobs. Caring for children and aging parents, and serving in the military. They harvest and prepare the food we eat. And the grants are woven into the fabric of our country because we are and always will be a nation of immigrants. Recently we have seen the president used fear. Fear of muslims and immigrants as a tool to promote his misguided and poorly developed policy. Undermineut not only american values, but also jeopardize our safety and harm the economy. Democrats agreed that removing violent criminals should be the priority, but tearing families apart through mass deportation does not make the country safer and waste our precious resources. Banning refugees who have been vetted waste resources. Building useless walls instead of fixing roads and bridges waste resources. We cannot let the politics of fear and suspicion distract us from priorities. Democrats want to make the country work for all americans. We believe in making america greater by fighting for an Economic Growth that benefits everyone. Is simple, keep america safe, keep america working, and keep america moving forward. I know that so many of you share the same priorities. Ofr the past month millions americans are getting involved and taking their action in their community. The fight we are in right now is not a fight over politics, it is a fight for the future of our country. We are in this fight together. Commitment tour the success of working men and women all across the nation, stay with us in the fight. Do not give up hope. Do not give into anger and fear. Do not stop fighting for what you think is best for the country. If we keep up the fight, we will in. Together win. Together, we make the country better.
