I would like to tell you a story about a young woman named rachel who found herself in a difficult situation about 10 yearsshe had a very rough upbringing and her family and left home at a young age became involved in a relationship that was healthiest. She was 19 years old and sadly her boyfriend was physically and emotionally abusive. She became pregnant. And so she stayed with him. The father continued to physically abuse rachel she found out again that she was pregnant and really was to be considered a desperate situation she reached out to local Pregnancy Care Center who to a Maternity Home in fredericksburg virginia called marys shelter. There, rachel moved and received for a couple of years the support she needed to choose life for her second baby and to fully rachel went on to get her ged then she became a certified medical assistant. He graduated as a registered nurse. Now, at the age of 28 she is working as a registered nurse in our local area. In just a couple years ago rachel bought her first family home. Thanks be to god for her story. [cheering] friends, studies have shown that 60 of women who choose abortion would if they felt they had more support. Not only that but one in four women who choose are coerced to have that abortion. What does a woman most in need when sheg an unexpected pregnancy . She does not need fear mongering she does not need shame it. What she needs to hear is youve got this. And i will help you. [cheering] she needs to know that someone will support her and this to know that she is not alone marchers i have a question for you. Will you be that someone . Ay yes. In 2022 alone Pregnancy Resource Centers provided get this, 358 million in resources to women facing unexpected pregnancies. Such Services Include housing counseling, prenatal medical care baby supplies, clothing, or millet, Parenting Classes are adoptions reported so much more. Both nurture versus prolife americans ignore babies after birth. The real story is pregnancy soenters and Maternity Homes and you are for equipment you support their children and their families before after long after the babies are born walking with them every step of the way. To work with foster children and to help families who are adopting to volunteer and assist our vital Pregnancy Resource Centers in our maomes and to reach out a renewed hand of compassion and to speak the truth in love that is what weh all of us can play a role in that really important work this is also a pivotal time to promote quality healthcare for women and their unborn children. Ishe house passed the pregnant students rights act. That is rights. Because being pregnant while finishing your degree can be really difficult women shall be presented with a false choice of being a mom or student. That is rights. [cheering] we also passed supportingegnant and parenting women and families act thats a big winds too. Right now you should know the biden adm[fistration is proposing a regulation to restrict funds to Pregnancy Resource Centers. We know those are the Center States rely on to assist expecting moms and dads that would undercut the important work. The important material that expecting a first time mothers get from the centers read our bill would prevent that regulation from coming into that utilizes centers to help people in need. Who could be opposed to that . We are passing bills and marking today because it takes a lot of cry single human child every unborn child as a value thats too profound and precious to ignore we have every reasotimistic my friends that we can change Public Opinion. We find encouragement from that leaders of previous generations we can learn from the great americans who change Public Opinion throughout our history. Ladies and gentlemen at a new jersey Pregnancy Resource Center two women expressed through tears of their deep and abiding gratitude for the entire incredible love, respect and care that decision to abort their babies. They spoke with desperate and helpless they were. They thanked the director for being there in a nonjudgmental way to persuade them to have their they chose life. Then two teenage girls got up, took to the podium stood sidebyside and talk of i sports that reverence for the sanctity of human life. Near the end of the remarks they turn toward the director of the center and said if you did not persuade our moms to let us live, we would bedead. I was so moved. To hear that kind of testimony. There more Pregnancy Resource Centers throughout the United States. Each and every one of them an oasis of love, compassion, empathy, respect care for both ofmothers and their children. As jeannie mentioned earlier americans agree the new national pollou 83 of all americans including 75 of democrats support i say again support pregnancy resource they like all of us in the Human Rights Movement and with every woman and forld. My name i am the executive director of the princely resource some pictures of my son who is the reason why i am here today. He saved my life, the Pregnancy Center saved my life. Aic from age two to 29. At the age of 29 i was looking at death. I was traffictates i was hooked onto crystal meth. I wanted to die. I wanted my son dead. I had no life, i had no hope but in New Hampshire and a woman named phyllis saved my life. Me the word, i know a man named jesus. Yes, yes come on. Yes. And she said for son so i believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life so he did not come into this world to c world was already condemned. Because of that i gave my life to jesus. And when i looked at it yes. Come on. This is for jesus. Come on. Yes. And that woman i lookedow what . Im homeless and pregnant are going to help me . She got me into a program and they are because i challenged her with that question opened a home called house of hope New Hampshire there we Work Together and then two years ago she looked at me the same woman that shared jesus with me and save my sons life is a same woman who had made application for the Pregnancy Resource Center where we there who are struggling and need help. As a woman who called me at 5 00 a. M. This morning and said i need help baby is going through a distress pregnancy can you help me and i said yes even though i am in d. C. Have got people who will help you at home but we are here to are here to help. We are here for the babies. We are here to save souls and save lives. God bless [cheering] the pregnancy test was positive. I fell to the floor and screamed over and over again. What was i going to do . I just quit my job to become a fulltime entrepreneur the timing was not right to beplus i was afraid to tell him because in the back of my mind i knew if i continued my pregnancy obey single when it worked up the courage to tell him i am pregnant, i could barely get the words out of my mouth before he immediately suggested that i have a abortion. It is not like we are playing for keeps he said. I was devastated but not at all surprised by his response. A couple of weeks later i went to the doctor and the doctor confirmed that i was pregnant with i cried. I tried to move forward with the pregnancy so i cdoctors appointments. During one of my doctors appointments, my stenographer noted just how much i was crying so she told me about a center. I was so excited about the services so i scheduled an appointment. I wish i could say to choose life when i made that call but i had not yet. I wanted to but i did not know if i could. There was one particular day when the pressure and the fear was so bad that i picked up the phone to call an abortion provider. Thank god they did not answer the phone. I never made thenow who answer the phone when i need them . Might local Pregnancy Center. As i continued the pregnancy the pressure to abort intensified and i was tried with every fiber of my being to kids. But i was getting a week. One day i was crying and i needed someone to talk too. Enter was close but i called anyway and pleaded with the lord for someone to answer the phone. And someone did. The woman listen to me cry and reassured me everything was going to be okay. It was needed to hear to come to that appointment instead of trying to call the Abortion Center again. I am eternally grateful that i found a center and i remember it when i when i was transitioning out of their Parenting Program at the you for everything that you have done because my twins are alive. But i will do is pay it forward. And so today i pray this is one of many days i can pay it forward. Therefore i want to tell everyone marching today that your work matters its because of people like you that allowed somewhat like me too choos life or my unborn twins. There are so many people like me who need people like y to be there to give them hope and a pathway forward when they are experiencing unplanned pregnancy and so i want to say thank you you are at work mat you. Ive been given the privilege of talk to you all on this amazing day that will happen every year until abortion is made unthinkable in this country. [cheering] a little bit about penn state students for life we are a small but committed club s culture of death on campus. In the past two years it has been a mission of ours to help out the local state colle we have been fortunate enough to build close relations with the staff and volunteers who constantly providevices for women and children. And this is just one of the many ways we stay active in the fight to end abortion. S not one involving a direct connection to abortion. Instead it involves eight normal College Student who h worries of knowing ive different beliefs than most of the students on campus. It is knowing that people will call me insensitive and due to mye a say on this matter. It is knowing and may lose friends when they find out i prolife. [cheering] these fears and worries run through my head almost on the that the importance of the sanctity of life outweighs a worry i may have heard the discomfort of speaking up against the societal norms will only get chipped away as i remind myself that i fight for the life of the cho let the mother know that her life is just as precious and cared for as the unborn baby. So i all i urge my generation to not stay stagnant. Do not turn a blind eye because your voice matters. Fight. You have a community filled with people who will stand right behind you and ifity for those to come too. Instead of running away from fear or complacency run towards it. Use that energy as the will to fight for the love for the child and mother. Let us show the world our something that should be the norm. Let us show the world that abortion is not the answer. I just not produce a love l death. Until the day that abortion is gone let us never let the world forget the importance of the deserves. While that march the march began as a response tot and as a response to ro being overturned, why . Because we are not yet done. The main goal abortion becomes unthinkable. It is incredibly inspiring to see thousands of marchers come together for both mom baby. From connecticut my home state to michigan. All the way to california just to name a few. You see it now standing behind me are the heroes of the movement. Pro life leaders from across the who work each and every day to build a culture of life in their communities. The names of these organizatio now on the jumbotron right next to me. Each o need within the Prolife Movement. They are made up of Pregnancy Resource Centers. Advocacy groups, my partners are behind me. And many, many more Incredible Missions within the Prolife Movement. With over 62 million americans lost to abortion and millions of women and fam the work for all of us is not over. We honor each and every one of you on stage with me if your lifesaving mission and valuable invaluable work.
