At a noose conference last hour, david brown revealed one person in custody is a woman. We are involved in negotiation negotiations with a suspect for the last 45 minutes, hes been exchanging gunfire with us and not being cooperative. Before i came here, i asked for plans to end this standoff. As soon as im done here, ill be presented with those plans. In addition to this second floor garage as we recap the Previous Press release, we have in custody a female who was in the same area of the el centro garage. And we followed a mercedes with two suspects who had camouflage bags who officers end up stopping on traffic in the oak cliff area near polk and 67th. They are in custody and being interviewed. The suspect that we are negotiating with that has exchanged gunfire with us over the last 45 minutes has told our negotiators that the end is coming and hes going to hurt and kill more of us, meaning Law Enforcement. And that there are bombs all over the place in this garage and in downtown. So we are being very careful in our tactics so that we dont injure or put any of our officers in harms way, including the citizens of dallas as we negotiate further. We still dont have a complete Comfort Level that we have all the suspects. So we will continue a very, very rigorous investigation and search of downtown. Well likely be working throughout the Early Morning hours of friday. Until we are satisfied that all suspects have been captured and have the opportunity to be interviewed so that we can fully understand whats motivated this attack on our officers. As i mentioned, one of our officers that was in surgery, that we had hopes to survive pass passed bringing the total count of officers that passed away to four, three Dallas Police officers and one dart officer. Were continuing to ask for the publics prayers and supports of support and encouragement, ive never been more proud of a Police Officers and being a part of this great noble profession seeing the courage, the professionalism, and the grit, staying on scene knowing we are vulnerable. Our downtown is very large with large buildings. Running toward gunfire, to help the injured officers to get them transported to hospital by patrol car, not having the time to wait for ambulance, so many stories of great courage. We continue to fight the good fight to bring this to a conclusion, its a tenuous situation. Ironically, it all began as a peaceful march for justice in the deaths of two black men shot by police in baton rouge, louisiana. Similar demonstrations were happening in seattle, denver, portland, chicago, washington, st. Paul and new york city. Thousands demanding justice for ka steel and sterling. Castille was shot in his car near st. Paul minnesota. Alton sterling was gunned down as two baton rouge officers pinned him to the payment. The Justice Department is now looking into that case. Lets go now to casey steigel in dallas with the latest. Do you have any new information for us . Were talking about this suspect that is still actively exchanging gunfire with Dallas Police, and that is happening in the el centro, which is a Community College here in dallas. Its happening in the el centro parking garage. See the giant green Tall Building . That is the bank of america building here in Downtown Dallas, its the tallest, a lot of people know this, because it makes the dallas skyline, on the other side of the street, on the left side of the street, if you look west that way, the parking garage there is the structure you see that has two yellow lights at the top and then you see all of the lights there off in the distance, just above that string of white lights here on main street in dallas, that is where that suspect is currently holed up at this hour, and has been exchanging gunfire with Dallas Police for more than an hour now, so that is still on going as we speak. As you heard the police chief say, in that press conference, they have been in contact with that suspect. And hes told them that the end is near, and that he has warned them that he is prepared to hurt or kill more Police Officers and that there were bombs scattered across Downtown Dallas. Interestingly when the police chief played that statement, there hasnt been this sense of urgency that we talked about, we discussed this in the last hour because we were getting the feel from officials on the ground that there was no longer a threat to the public. Now this news that there may be potentially explosive devices, we should caution that has been what the suspect has told police. It is entirely possible that it is a bogus story. Think of this, this is an individual who has nothing to lose at this point, police have him backed into a corner if you will, and the Dallas Police chief ended that press conference by saying that they were going to have to leave and make some tough decisions, meaning, at some point theyre not going to play around with this person any more, and a decision is going to have to be made to get in there and neutralize him in some way, the goal to capture this person alive. If hes already continued making threats against more Law Enforcement officials on the ground here tonight, and then threatening the use of explosive devices. Again, this is something who may not have something to lose, and its entirely possible that this coulding a suicide by police sort of situation. Again, this is a bit of speculation mixed in with the facts that are gathering. This is a story that seems to be changing every five minutes or so. The suspects are in custody. And now the police chief saying, there is still an active situation going on between the police and the fourth suspect thats hold up in that parking garage back there. He also talked about three other suspects who are in custody at this hour. Four total, the one still actively engaging officers a woman who was taken into custody, also near that parking garage, and then two males who were seen putting a camouflage bag in a mercedes and speeding away. He was arrested south of downtown here. The situation that is con stan thely changing. If they are they have to take this man seriously. Are you seeing any activity of searching, bomb sniffings dogs. Does it look like people are actively trying to see if any devices are out there right now . No, and thats what strange about it the scene here did not change whatsoever, were talking about only being 2 1 2 blocks from where the shots rang out. The officers were shot just two 1 2 blocks in that direction, past the crime scene tape. Were close, i havent heard any of the gunshots theyre talking about with the exchange of gunfire. We havent heard any controlled detonations, nothing like that, but the bomb squad is on the scene, in addition to the atf, and in fact i want to read this information thats coming in because this is important as it pertains to the federal role in this particular case, this is coming from matthew dean one of our wonderful producers in d. C. , hes saying that the fbi in dallas is involved. The dallas fbi is providing all possible assistance to all Law Enforcement officers. Ill defer to the Police Department to provide details of the ongoing investigation. There was some discussion about the atf. Patricia wright, before i came on the air with you, there was a vehicle parked here, i saw two officers with kevlar, bulletproof vests get in, and their bulletproof vests said atf. Matthew deans reporting here, an atf official confirms that several agents are on the scene here assisting dallas pd in its investigation. Were told that atf canine units currently scouring the scene for shell casings, which investigators would hope would point back to registered firearms that may belong to the individual or individuals behind this incident. Fox has been told there have not been any firearms recovered from the scene, there are lots and lots of shell casings. We talk about the scene. This is a very elaborate crime scene in Downtown Dallas, and in that press conference, the police chief was talking about how theyre just trying to assess how large it is. Because i can tell you the Police Perimeter goes for blocks in directions all around us in a big square, and so the mayor of dallas, mayor rawlings was talking about how theyre trying to ascertain how big of a crime scene were talking about here, because thousands of people commute into Downtown Dallas every day, its a major u. S. City, lots of businesses are down here, lots of people commute into the city for work. People may have the day off tomorrow because large portions of Downtown Dallas will be sealed off. A lot of people may not be able to get to work tomorrow as investigators try to peace together the evidence thats scattered downtown. Not knowing if any of these devices exist or are planted anywhere. Chief brown said he was not completely comfortable, that they even had all of the suspects, so i can imagine theyre not going to want to let a lot of people into that city in the morning to compound these things. Exactly, we had been under the impression this was coming to an end and it was under control, then the police chief rattled through the suspects he had in custody. He followed that up with saying, theyre not entirely comfortable, that is all of the suspects theyre dealing with. Weve been talking about this over and over tonight. This was a peaceful protest, nearing the very end this took a lot of people by surprise. There is a lot of processing that has to go on. Youre talking about multiple police agencies. Dallas pd. Metroplex Police Officers responded. Clearly a lot of moving parts here, a lot to consider, but again, the headline right now at this hour, here in Downtown Dallas, police say they have one of the suspects they believe who is responsible for this attack on police. Tonight in dallas, they are exchanging gunfire with that individual. And they have been for more than an hour in the parking garage just two and a half, three blocks up the road from where im standing, police could be making a decision soon as to whether or not they want to move in. Potentially neutralize this suspect. The goal here, of course, to try to take this person alive so they can be brought to justice, pa trivia. I know you got there, pretty quickly, you were stuck in traffic, you got there relatively quickly, when this is all taking place, there were hundreds and hundreds of people at this peaceful protest, and now behind you, im not seeing many people, i know youre only two or three blocks where this took place, we had heard someone earlier stating they were getting people on buses to get them out of the area. Whats that balancing act of trying to get these people to safety and then not letting some of those possible suspects slip through the cracks, not knowing whether we have them all. Its a pretty arduous task as you can imagine, you had hundreds of people that filled the streets here for the protests, and people couldnt get to their cars. It was really a scene of pandemonium as you can imagine. We talked to a flub of eyewitnesss, when we first got on the scene, who said that people were literally running in every different direction. No one knew where these gunshots were coming from. And the videos we have seen emerging from people posting to social media tonight. You hear rapid succession gunfire, like a semiautomatic weapon, there are minutes that go by where it is silent, and there is no more gunfire, and then another round can be heard. So this lasted for several minutes on and off, on and off, and so you had people running every which way, absolute chaos, people ducking for cover, i talks to a guy that said he was hiding behind a pillar of a building, a concrete pillar, because again, its dark. You dont really know where these shots are coming from, so suddenly people are running in all directions. So now you have a lot of people who are trapped, essentially, because they cant get out, and thats why they were trying to bring in the buses, to get these people to a point where they can get out of the perimeter, as far as the crowd where im specifically standing, not far from the crime scene, not many people at all, in fact, i would say only about 20 or so people gathered over in that location. And frankly, those might be some people that spilled out of the restaurant here. Its a thursday night, people were down here having drinks and dinner, and so some of the people gathered in the corner may have been patrons of the restaurant who spilled out on to the sidewalk and had a birds eye view and an up close look at all of the action that went down here. Earlier this evening. Casey stegall, live from dallas, thank you so much. We will continue to check back in with you throughout the morning for updates. Now we go to our washington, d. C. , bureau and kelly wright for more information. We are getting word that the atf, the fbi is getting involved, providing all assistance to dallas. And we have ted williams standing by whos going to be talking to us. Hes a criminal defense attorney, also contributor for fox news, particularly with the Greta Van Susteren show. Can you hear me . Youve been following the updates tonight, youve seen what took place in dallas. It got really deadly and really ugly as at least what we know right now, several gunmen perched on top of buildings, try angulating their shots, using a high velocity type of weapon and firing upon Police Officers, targeting them. 11 of them shot down, four of them are now deceased. Four three Dallas Police officers, and one dart officer. Tell me what you think is unfolding now, and how this country moves forward after dallas has experienced such a crushing blow to its Police Department, yet they are still on the streets trying to protect the public and trying to serve. Yeah, kelly, its what were looking at here unfortunately, is a war zone. We have what i believe is an orchestrated assassination of Police Officers in dallas, texas. I think you are looking at investigations that is going to have to take months to try to find out what took place here tonight. One of the greatest concerns is, that this kind of assassination. Assassination attempts, could very well peel out to other parts of the country, and other jurisdictions, im sure everyone is on a high state of alert. There is absolutely no way that this was not orchestrated and planned by i dont know, but some group. Now, what will be very beneficial in the daylight to Law Enforcement would be the various videos, cameras, that are located on various buildings down there in dallas texas. And im sure that Law Enforcement is now gathering as much video as they possibly can. As you know, kelly, theres one individual who the exchange of gunfire, it is alleged, in a garage, theyre trying definitely to take that person alive they need to get as much intelligence as they possibly can from that person and others. There have been threats that there are bombs, that these individuals have placed throughout the downtown area of dallas. That may or may not be true. But out of an abundance of caution, Law Enforcement cannot take any chances. My assumption is, that they are going to announce pretty soon that if individuals in the dallas area can help, that they stay home, and not try to come downtown, because again, without being redundant, were looking at a war zone in dallas texas. Ted, you know, this entire matter, when you look at what took place this week, with the police shoots, you know, that took place in pasadena. Someone was talking in my ear. You look at what took place in minnesota, and baton rouge. And some of the other shootings, Police Shootings of africanamericans, all of this obviously building up the anger, but then you have this racial tension thats going on in america. You have the division thats going on between conservative, liberal, democrats and republicans, on and on. Division after division after division. We see the lack of people coming together to try to bring about some understanding between police and the africanamerican community. And whatever happened here tonight, it started off peaceful. It started off very peaceful. The undercurrent of all this, is the sieging anger must have contributed to this in some way, or just sheer hatred of Law Enforcement, looking at it from a criminal defense perspective. What do you think is going on in the minds of these criminals who carried out this heinous attack on Law Enforcement . Kelly, i believe that whatever we are now seeing taking place in dallas, texas, has been well planned and thought out, and i think that youve got a group or groups, who have been studying and waiting for this kind of an opportunity to occur. Weve had unfortunately, shootings in this country throughout its history and most recently, weve had quite a few shootings of young black men by Police Officers. But what we have here is some orchestrated group who decided to take advantage of that situation in order to kill Law Enforcement officers in the manner in which theyve acted here tonight. We have to be very careful when we tried to look at the direct nexus between what is going on in baton rouge, louisiana, and what took place in minnesota, and what is happening here tonight. This may be a group who took advantage of that kind of racial tension to carry out their own ugly terrorist acts. When we use the word terrorist, we need to be very careful. We i am talking about home grown terrorists. I think in the coming days were going to find out that this was an orchestrated conspiracy to kill Law Enforcement, to create havoc in dallas, texas, and again, i am sure Law Enforcement throughout this country are on a heightened state of alert, because theres someone or somebody in america thats trying to create a confusion, and use weak moments in our history, like the killing of black kids by cops. As a means to carry out these vengeful acts. And to create problems among racists and individuals in this country. If i hear you correctly then, youre saying this was such a sinister plot, that it had to be planned, there was a question asked earlier today, during a news conference, how would these people have known, or these suspects have known the route that police had responded, saying they must have been able to get ahold of the information, and perhaps seize upon this opportunity to carry out this kind of attack. As you know, this sprang up all of a sudden in response to what took place in those Police Shootings of africanamerican men in baton rouge, and minnesota. Devastating as they were even to the point of when fbi director james comb my was on capitol hill earlier today, he was asked or at least asked to look into these shooting incidents and he wanted to say, its a terrible blight on our country. And how it hurt him. The Justice Department would be looking into those shootings. Now hes faced with whats going on in terms of a direct attack, a sinister attack, a dastardly deed, a cowardly act committed against Police Officers who were there to protect the public as they continued to march in a peaceful protest, which is their constitutional right. It was not the right of anybody to take them out, especially in the manner in which they did. And i just call it a cowardly act, a despicable act of terror. Absolutely. Kelly, what you have here, and what our viewers need to understand is that theyre a grouple bent on creating havoc. What you find is, they can lie in wait not only for days, but months and what they will do in that time period, they will plan and plot. They will come into a city, and they will they know strategically, what and where they want to be, and theyre hoping that when the opportunity strikes, that theyre in those various locations. And that they can find that weak moment. That weak moment being in america is inevitable, that at some stage or another, a Law Enforcement officer is going to be involved in a shooting with a citizen, black, white or whatever have you. And they will take advantage of that opportunity to carry out these zaft ardly, cowardly, as you represented here, deeds, so theres a great deal going on. I have a feeling that within hours here, the Dallas Police department along with the federal partners are going to put an end to this hostage siege, dealing with this one individual. They want to take him alive. But they also want to stay alive. Therefore, theyre going to do whatever they have to, to bring this to closure. Bear with me for one moment. We are following developments out of dallas texas, where a peaceful protest had begun earlier in the night, and then something went horribly wrong, the Police Officers who were there to protect the crowd that had gathered to protest peacefully, they were they became victims of a terrible plot that took place as were finding out, police are still investigating the facts, they have one person trying to negotiate with, hes considered a suspect, hes been exchanging gunfire earlier in the night. Now theyre negotiating with him as ted was talking about, trying to get him to perhaps surrender, they would like to talk to him to find out more information and get as much information, the police chief of dallas says this is going to be a rigorous investigation. They have also taken into custody three other people, one person earlier today, they were also able to capture a suspect whos a female and found her on the second floor of a garage, a parking garage, then they found two men loading some camouflage material into a mercedes, theyre going to follow that car, stop it and arrest those two men and took them into custody. Now the one hold out, the reason why the hold out is continuing theyre negotiating with him. The man wanted to threaten the Police Officers, saying he would hurt more. And that he had planted bombs throughout the area. We dont know what type of devices he has or if he has any. The fact is, that because of whats taken place tonight, 11 Police Officers shot, four of them now dead three Police Officers and one dart officer, the police are taking this man very seriously. And as ted williams, criminal defense attorney stated, they would like to take him alive. Casey steigel has been reporting on the scene there in dallas. Has talked about the atmosphere of the area. As you can imagine, its very tense. Police are still out on the streets trying to keep the crowd controlled and keep the crowd peaceful, despite the fact that 11 of their fellow officers have been shot. But they believe that part of the threat is now taken care of. They will continue to investigate this throughout the night, and then into the morning. In fact, as casey steigel was reporting, its possible that dallas Downtown Dallas will not be open because as the mayor talked about, it is a crime scene, its a big crime jean, a lot of forensic evidence will have to be taken, a lot of forensic information will have to be conducted. Many people are being asked to go online with the dallas city website to find out what particular places, what roads will be open. Earlier in the day, we spoke about president obamas response to shootings earlier this week. Both men dying in those shootings, this is how president obama responded much. I want to give people a few statistics to put in context why emotions are so raw around these issues. According to various studies. Africanamericans are 30 more likely than whites to be pulled over. After being pulled over, africanamericans and hispanics are three times more likely to be searched. Last year, africanamericans were shot by police at more than twice the rate of whites africanamericans are arrested at twice the rate of whites africanamericans are more likely to be charged with offenses carrying mandatory minimums. If you add it all up, the africanamerican and hispanic population, who make up only 30 of the general population make up more than half of the incarcerated population. These are facts. And when incidents like this occur. Theres a big chunk of our fellow citizenry that feels as if because of the color of their skin they are not being treated the same. And that hurts. And that should trouble all of us. This is not just a black issue, an hispanic issue. Its an american issue. All fair minded people should be concerned. President obama commenting on the two shootings that took place earlier in the week. Excuse me for losing my voice there, we want to go to kdfw, were going to keep ted williams on, he will come back and talk to us. At kdfw, theres new developments in this story. Theres more of a twist with that suspect that theyve been trying to negotiate. The suspect may be hold up in a school, there were students in that school earlier, theyve been able to get them all out. Lets dip in to kdfw now and listen to the conversation. Theyre trying to ascertain if hes still alive. He could have been wounded early on in one of the exchanges of gunfire with the dallas s. W. A. T. Officer. He could have been wounded and suffering from his own gunshot wounds and may be fading himself. They still have to be careful, though, because hes made this threat of bombs throughout the parking garage and across downtown, they have to be very careful in moving forward. Well, talking about those bombs and since the suspects in custody are not according to the chief being cooperative, i know they want to find out as much as they can, do they then continue Police Continue searching buildings, searching parts of downtown. They have been doing that without fail, heather. They have been doing that without fail. Where and what we take for granted, they dont. So they know where to look for a device. They have training in this, they have the experience of where things have been placed in other cities, and its not always something hidden. Go back to the boston bomber, its just on the sidewalk. People dont Pay Attention to that, and in a situation like this, these highly trained officers, they know how to go block by block and look thats been happening. They want commerce to take place tomorrow in Downtown Dallas. Literally, you would hate to have downtown shut down all day tomorrow. If it had to happen, fridays not a bad day for that to take place. Sean, we know that some people were evacuated from El Centro College tonight. Not sure of the proximity they could have had to the sniper, police would be asking them, did you see anything, did you hear anything . Of course, did you see someone in the stairwell or in a bathroom or someone acting strangely. Maybe even someone you dont normally see here on a thursday night. Any question is on the table, any little bit of information can tell them something. And so yes they would have wanted to talk to those folks as they were First Priority is to get them safely out of there, once they got them over to dpd headquarters im sure they started questioning them about what they saw, who they saw. Whether they saw anyone. And theyve got lots of ways for surveillance in terms of hearing something. Lots of ways to use cameras around angles, around corners, to be able to see where the threat is. The beauty of the robot, clarice, absolutely it is. Absolutely it is. We saw the short of the i dont know if its a one alarm call, whatever. When we saw the rescue, the ambulance, the paramedics, and the one engine following a Police Officer kind of in the same general area. Thats kind of something wed see once that situation ends, right . Wed see some kind of rescue folks move in there and check people out likely. You could, yes. Once they are sure its safe to approach. If ive threatened with bombs, am i booby trapped, do i have bombs on me . Lets suppose that he is injured and hes wounded now, and they are in there with him, they have to be careful about rushing to him, to try to administer cpr and get him to paramedics, again, he could have some device on his body if hes threatened these incendiary devices across the parking garage and downtown. Rescue crews are usually to make sure the s. W. A. T. Guys are okay on entry and stuff. Yeah, i think well and the fire, the scene the fire engine now, you know, its cover for the paramedics and the Police Officers, as we saw the Police Officers moving their cars into position to recover those officers who were down earlier, they want to travel in some numbers and hopefully some cover. I think that we should know something i would imagine we wont hear from david brown any more until its been resolve d. They might get in front of a camera, were making sure we keep an eye on the Dallas Police twitter feed. That may be where we get our first word. Yes. I dont know, we keep saying, you know, this is unbelievable, and it is, and yet we know these kinds of things can happen, weve watched them happen, these type of mass attacks happen across the country. But we have yet really this is a mass attack against the police. Really, that was the target, not just citizens. It was the police. And its a surreal moment, a Twilight Zone moment. Is there any surprise on your part, and this is just having a discussion here we heard some people talk about it earlier, how quickly the parade or the rally was planned, and the route was planned, and how quickly these at least four people it seems, came together to know the city, to know the route, to say this is the plan . Yeah, that was a surprise to me. And again, dpd tells us, they had 100 officers tonight working this event. I surmise that there would have been more in strategic locations, high up on buildings, snipers, et cetera, had they had any intelligence, any inkling . Have they picked up anything that Something Like this was being planned or even possible . So i think there was some surprise. We heard chief miller earlier, talking about the network of cameras throughout Downtown Dallas, and by the city, and then privately as well, so im weve been listening to kdfw and reporter sean robb on the scene. Hes one of the crime reporters for our affiliate out there, kdfw, hes been talking about how 100 Police Officers were on the route earlier today, when it all started off as a protest. Again, in keeping with the peace, the police were there to protect the peace, and serve the people who had their right to protest. And they came under fire, they became the targets of snipers who actually try angulated their shots, and wanted to have a large kill zone, they took down 11 Police Officers, four of them died. Three Dallas Police officers, and one dart Police Officer. Ted williams is with us right now. Hes a criminal defense attorney. Many of you see him on on the record with Greta Van Susteren. I want to talk about something the mayor of dallas talked about, he said this is a big crime scene, speaking of dallas downtown. We will post the site to let people know what buildings are open. Earlier sean robb was talking about how they want to have commerce in dallas to show that they can move forward. But given the nature of this investigation, and how rigorous it will have to be, there is the chance that they will have to keep everything shut down for the moment and even into friday. If youre going to disrupt commerce, at least fridays a good day to do it, as sean robb was reporting. Absolutely, kelly. Kelly, our viewers need to understand that this is a massive crime scene. And i my understanding will be that they will try to keep as much of the businesses closed in dallas. And as weve said, unfortunately, if this was going to happen. And certainly we dont want anything of this nature to happen, but as a crime scene, the mere fact that there was try angulation here, when it came to shooting itself, that meant that the shooting came from various directions. And as a result of that specifically the atnl is going to have to try to get in there, one of the primary objectives is to find that evidence. And you cannot have citizens and businesses open and individuals tracking through the evidence. That will not happen. As a matter of fact, i think youre going to find that dallas is going to be closed downtown. Not only tomorrow, but maybe well into next week, into the areas here. Because one thing, and one thing only, the objective of Law Enforcement is, to try to determine any and everyone that perhaps has been involved in the killings and the shootings of these officers. Kelly, this was a crime of opportunity. They i believe took, initially a little earlier, advantage of the situation. So when you speak of dallas, and you speak of what is going on, i can unequivocally tell you, its going to be a crime scene for some time to come. And as you know, because youve been following the developments throughout the night, they have in custody a female who was apparently a suspect. They also have three other men who are believed to be suspects in custody. They also followed or at least theyve been exchanging gunfire, thats since stopped, where they basically encounter another suspect. And he went on to tell police, while they were negotiating with him, he said, the end is coming, he threatened to hurt more Police Officers and discuss the fact that he had planted bombs all over the place. Police are still looking into that, investigating all of that, therefore, the police chief said theyre going to be conducting a rigorous investigation to fully understand what motivated this attack, on the Police Officers. Were looking right now at a live shot. I believe its my producer is talking to me, is this a live shot were looking at right now in dallas . All right. Say that again . We have just learned, and this is very sad to report, ted, a fifth Police Officer has died. My producer is just telling me that in my ear right now, its a very difficult night for the Dallas Police. Kelly, it five Police Officers died. You know, it is a very, very dark time in our history. Specifically as to now a fifth dying here in dallas. One of the things that our viewers need to understand in these kinds of situations, darkness really is the enemy of Law Enforcement. Because they are trying to combat an area where theres so many different uncertainties. They cannot mean, and Law Enforcement cannot wait until daylight, because daylight will help them to coordinate, theres a great deal of confusion going on. But one of the things we know is that there are a lot of families tonight weeping for their loved ones, who only wanted to serve and protect that community. And was cowardly gun ned down b individuals who had their own agenda. In coming weeks, we will learn more about these individuals, youve said that they have suspects that are in custody, and i say out of an abundance of caution, because theres so much confusion, it will be debatable at this stage as to the involvement of some of these suspects, they may all be involved or maybe just some of them are involved. One of the things that you spoke about earlier, kelly, and this is very accurate, we dont know how many individuals were actually involved that may very well have escaped with the crowds that were trying to get out of this kill zone. The investigation is going to be long, extensive, and youre going to see more federal agents acting in conjunction with state and local agencies to try to determine why, when and who planned this, and who carried out these cowardly deeds. You know, i want to bring something in here, its a quote from chief david brown, he werent on to say, of this Police Officers, that ive never been more proud of our officers, many of them are running toward the gunfire, to get the injured out, so many stories of good courage. And then the mayor of dallas, Mike Rawlings going on to say, and this is going to what you were talking about as well, its a heart breaking morning to lose these four officers now, five officers. It is no hyperbole to say they risked their lives every day. And then he adds, we as a country have to find a way to heal the wounds. And then he said, words matter, leadership matters. All lives matter. When you look at that situation and the fact that the mayor has that kind of resolve, and the police chief has that kind of resolve to say, we still have to heal as a nation, words matter, leadership matters, ted, it is incumbent upon all people in america, it would appear from what the mayor and police chief have said, that we try to find a way to heal from this wound. This is a deep wound in the city of dallas and also in america. It is certainly a deep wound. And yes words matter, and we our leaders have to be very careful about what they say and when they say it because just one word to one group can tip off that group. And to go in somewhere like dallas here, and killing many, and the thing about it is, youve said it, and i think our viewers need to understand this, Police Officers just dont wake up in the morning and say, were going to go out and kill black people, were going to go out and kill white people . Incidents happen, and the incidents, maybe black people and white people are killed. But it is not always where someone is just saying, we want to do this.
