Crashing right onto main street in East Hartford, connecticut. The student pilot, reportedly a jordanian national, did not survive. The family r mini van, barely escaping with their lives. Reporter tonight, the fbi investigating this deadly plane crash on a city street in connecticut as a criminal act. Information indicates that this plane crash was intentional. Reporter the small twinengine aircraft carrying a flying instructor and his student, smashing into utility poles in East Hartford tuesday afternoon. With a mother and her three children inside, then bursting into flames. Three poles, when it hit the last one it just boom. Reporter the instructor, 43yearold arian prevalla, making it out alive, running into a bank lobby. He had sought help in there, certainly running on adrenaline, its my understanding he has a significant amount of burns. Reporter but prevalla telling authorities this was no accident. Abc news learning his student, who died in the crash, was feras majdii mohammad freitekh, attending Flight School at a nearby hartford airport. Authorities say the two men were coming into land, each with their own of set of controls to fly the plane, but they wont say who was in control at the time of the crash. Can you confirm whether youre investigating some sort of argument midair . I cant confirm those details at this time. Reporter investigators simply saying they are not ruling anything out as far as a motive. And tonight, officers searching freitekh was staying temporarily and questioning his roommates. The district wants to build more schools and renovate existing ones to serve its growing number of students. And it needs that bond issue to pay for its plans. The district is growing by up to 400 students a year. So it is adding a New High School in North Liberty and three elementary schools. Workers are also making renovations to every building in the district. Kcrg tv nines mark carlson really taking a closer look at that plan, and gearing up to ask voters for that money . Yes, beth. A previous bond is whats helping to build this school here in North Liberty. But theyre far from done. And there could be some changes to the existing plan on the horizon. The biggest one would in North Liberty, where they could 2019. This wasnt even part of the original plan that launched several years ago. That would slow plans to build a New Elementary School near the coralville North Liberty city line. Not far from the New High School. We dont know the future, so when we get demographic projections in, when we look at where kids actually live, and where theyre going to live in the future, that means that we have to look forward in the plan and make were trying to predict 24 years ago. In all this is a 350million dollar facilities plan. Its being carried out over the course of a decade. That 191million dollar bond is part of this. If that passes it would raise property taxes on a 200thousand dollar home by 14 dollars a month starting in the year 2022. That vote is scheduled for september of next year.
