The group is meeting at the pentacrest from 5 30 to 7 30 tonight. Meskwaki representativ es and other native americans will join farmers, students, and professors in an assembly. The native American Student Association says its standing in solidarity with the Standing Rock sioux tribe in north dakota. They say the pipeline could have major environmental impacts and pollute water. The pipeline will go through 18 counties here it assists Law Enforcement dealing with pipeline protests. The States National guard received a sixmillion dollar line of credit to help pay for its work at the protest site. Guard Officials Say theyve already spent close to two million dollars. Grieving the loss of a loved one can be difficult for children. Unity point hospice and cedar memorial are holding an annual childrens grief camp to help kids get over that hurdle. A plane crash in the kansas city area killed two iowans. The single engine plane crashed tuesday evening at the airport in lees summit, missouri. A Des Moines County jury convicted 42yearold chris king with four counts of sex abuse last month. King says the girls testimony wasnt enough to warrant his guilty verdicts. Cedar Rapids Police now say they never found a specific or credible threat to jefferson high school. Their investigation was related to a 15yearold school, earlier this month. After the suicide, police investigated the students social media posts for Credible Threats of a mass shooting at the school. They found none. But its price has gone from 100 dollars in 2009 to more than 600 dollars today.
