Earlier this month, the Council Voted down a different minimum Wage Ordinance that would have gone along with Johnson County for workers over 18. The countywide minimum wage is set to go up to 100 an hour by 2017. The vote is set for march 8th. A new Des Moines Register mediacom iowa poll shows almost seven out of ten iowans would like to see a increase in minimum wage. But how much that increase should be varies among supporters. 16 percent would like to see 15 dollars an hour or more. 33 percent would like 10 dollars an hour. And 16 percent would like nine dollars an hour. The poll has a margin of error of 3point5 percent. A new study shows cedar rapids has the second higst number of millennials in the country who are buying homes. The study by smart asset shows 45 percent of the citys millennials, or people in their 20s, own homes. If they only have the rear plate, getting a good identification of that vehicle and what that license plate is, is next to impossible but iowowLaw Enforcement says that would make it harder for officers to do their jobs. Bill that would eliminate front license plates on vehicles in the state. Says the change would save more than 500 thousand dollars each year. But iowa Law Enforcement is skeptical. They say removing the front license plate would make it harder for them to do Law Enforcement use front and rear license plates for tracking vehicles in iminal investigations. T ty also say vehicles with two license plates better help eople involved in amber alerts.
