"as passed by him through the kitchen, mr. stern made a couple of statements, as i am passing by. one was, ' i am dying of cancer'. the other is, 'i heard voices'." stern's attorney described kimberly as having severe autism. stern's wife had recently died, and he'd become kimberly's only care provider. the defense says kimberly also had another mental diagnosis. iowa senator chuck grassley say should not be driving. he doubled-down on his stance during his weekly conference call today. grassley was talking about a man who he says had been living in the u-s illegally. that man, fernando aguilar, was involved in a crash last week that killed lea phann , a 12 year old girl from des moines. grassley says he's requested aguilar's immigration records from the department of homeland security.
