Why a man shot and killed two Police Officers in the Early Morning hours yesterday. Yesterday. Des Moines Sargeant Tony beminio and urbandale officer Justin Martin were both ambushed. Officer martin killed first police say at least 15 rounds were fired at him while driving. Minutes later and less than two miles away beminio was shot at a stop sign. The suspect scot greene arrested hours later. He was walking down a gravel road in Dallas County which is just west of urbandale. Greene flagged down a dnr employee showed his id and told him to call 911. As questions remain on just why the shooting happened cbs 2 learns more about the suspect scott greene. Greene. Back in 2014 he was charged when he refused to be searched for weapons. Days after that he was accused of threatening to kill a man at his apartment complex and pleaded guilty to harassment. Harassment. Right now officers are trying to figure out if the man in this image from youtube is the suspect. The posting claims the man in the video got into an altercation with some African American fans at a High School Football game because he carried a confederate flag. Beminio had been with des Moines Police since 2005 after working for Indianola Police department martins team says they had high hopes for his future within Urbandale Police. Sgt. Sargeant beminio was a state wrestling champion at iowa city west in 1996 the next year he helped west win a state championship in football as a captain. Professors who knew the men say they were dedicated to their work and thier passion for criminal justice studies showed through their school work.
