This is 51yearold thomas reefs of san jose, the former teacher and registered sex offender was charged with 14 counts of child molestation after he had sex with a 15yearold girl on several occasions between october of 2015 and april of this year. Police tell us he was working as the girls english tutor. Our megans law team they monitor sex registrants and this came across their desk. This isnt the first brush with the law. Back in 2002 he was arrested in sacramento in a sting operation after police say he tried to setp a date with a 12yearold girl. He was a School Teacher in oakland at the time of that arrest. He was later sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of molesting two underage girls in the east bay. Upon release he began Offering Services as a language tutor but he wasnt supposed to have contact with minors. Police say he was not affiliated with the local Learning Center or school. At this point they arent sure if the parents did a background check but the suspect did provide the family with his real name. Were again putting this information out, if somebody recognizes him as somebody that they had dealings with or maybe he was out there soliciting his services as a tutor, we definitely want to have those people contact the police department. A San Francisco man is being held on 20 million bail in connection with the murders of four young men last year. The 27yearold pleaded not guilty to multiple felony accounts. The 22yearold Michael Smith pleaded not guilty to charges of resisting arrest and battery on a police officer. The video on facebook shows officers punching smith in the head while he was restrained on friday. The Transit Agency said smith became uncooperative and physically resisted the officers when they were trying to detain him after an Armed Robbery report. Smiths aunt said she has seen the video is troubled by what happened. I could never watch the video again. But i felt like, is that my kid . Who could treat a human being like that . Well detectives are following leads as they try to find out who started an illegal campfire that erupted into a wildfire in monterey county. Dry conditions help the soberanes fire spread another 1500 acres today to nearly 72 square miles. It is 25 contained. The fire has destroyed 57 homes and killed a bulldozer operator when the heavy equipment toppled over on him. The fire is threatening 2000 homes west of carmel valley. Today crews are reporting progress against flames in fresno near prather. It started on saturday and burned four homes. Right now it is 65 contained thanks to an effort by hundreds of firefighters. Because of the quick actions of not only the local firefighters but as a team in california having resources come in and also the residents, they were able to help us out and have good brush clearance, they were also vigilant. All mandatory evacuations have been lifted and residents are being urged to pick up their animals that were left at shelters. A crash that virtually sliced a bus in half. The death toll goes down. Reporter that bus driver had several past violations, including driving while his license was suspended. Tonight a witness said he believes the bus driver was injured after the accident.
