She was arrested at her home not far from here. I talked to police and one of her neighbors two was in shock. I couldnt believe it when you were telling me the story. Im thinking, is she talking about the same person . Reporter dave lives across the street from theresa badger and he cant believe the charges shes facing. This doesnt fit at all. So im hoping its just a really bad mistake. Reporter Police Arrested badger this afternoon at her home on three counts of poisoning. After about a month and a half long investigation, the Police Department was able to serve and arrest warrant this afternoon at the home of a elementary schoolteacher. Reporter police say the investigation started november 21 when about 20 people, most of them teachers, attended a potluck at a home. There was some food that was ingested by several of the attendees. These people later started feeling sick and developed sim pops what they thought they were under the influence of some type of a substance. Reporter two people were rushed to the hospital and police say a 15yearold got sick after eating food brought home from the party. During a blood test by the hospital, it was determined that this person had thc in her system. Thc is the active ingredient in marijuana. Reporter police were brought in to investigate. They interviewed the teachers at the party, and they say there was a common theme partygoers told investigators they all ate the same dish. These allegations made one longtime resident angry. We love our children. And to say this is something happening, i hope she doesnt have a teaching license after this. Reporter ive been told that badger is married and has two sons. Tonight, weve learned who he is and why he was on those tracks. Phillip schultz was a Santa Clara University grad and good samaritan. He jumped on the tracks to save another mans life. George kiriyama joins us live where he spoke with schultzs widow. Reporter the family says its difficult to lose her best friend, but she also knows phillip died while trying to save another person. Tonight, she talked to us by phone with nothing but praise for her late hutz. Husband. Hes not a person that would have just stood by. Reporter it was not in phillip schultzs dna to stand by when somebody needed help. Monday, he was at the station when he saw a man down on the tracks. He tried to pull the man off the tracks by reaching out to him as a train came towards them. The man he was trying to help survived. He saw someone in danger and did what he thought he could to assist. Reporter she says her husbands action define the man she met at Santa Clara University so many years ago. It says to me that he was a person that was willing to do the right thing. That sounds generic, but just a person who didnt stop to really worry about why was that person out there. Reporter emily says phillip was always willing to drop what he was doing to help others. He was just a really open person who made himself available to anyone, whether it was my family or friends in need or helping out with other friends. He was just incredibly generous person. Reporter a generous person and hardworking one. His wife says he was dedicated to his career as a Computer Graphics company. For the past few days, emily says family and friends have been there for her, celebrating his life and actions to save another in need. Its incredible that we have this just Amazing Network that i think its going to help me through the next years and the rest of my life. No criminal charges against an elderly driver who hit two 6yearold boys with his car. The d. A. s office says there wasnt enough evidence to charge edward nelson. The 90yearold was attempting to back out of a parking spot, but he drove forward, crashing into the twins. They have an idea what they look like. Police released a sketch today, say thing man and two others terrorized an elderly couple and robbed them in their home. Investigators say the men forced their way into the house in palo alto yesterday morning. Police say one of the men had a gun. The husband and wife forced to lie on the floor while the crooks ransacked their home. The couple was shaken but not hurt. A kidnapping and rape is under investigation tonight. The college of marin says the student was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. Jean ely is live with more on what happened. Jean . Reporter investigators say that assault started here at the college of marin. The college put up these temporary lights tonight because a student tells them last night he came out here and got in his car and there was an armed gunman in the back seat. Crime alerts are posted on the campus of college of marin, warning students and staff of a kidnapping and Sexual Assault investigation. Area High School Kids leaving swim practice say its alarming. Im shocked. Ive never thought that this would be a place where Something Like this would happen. Reporter the Sheriffs Department and Campus Police are investigating. Police say at 8 15 last night, a student got in his car at lot 13. He tells police a masked man with a gun was in the back seat, and he forced the victim to drive to southern marin, where he sexually assaulted the student. The college of marin has set up temporary lights in the normally dark parking lot. I think these lights are definitely going to help. Reporter the college sent students a text message and email warning. Our coach just told us we should use the buddy system now. Reporter while Police Search for the attacking, nick and his friends are sticking together. A representative from the College Tells me he plans to leave these temporary lights up while he works to figure out a permanent lighting solution. The search for the suspect continues. Jean elle, nbc bay area news. In castro valley, a car rolls down a hill out of control with children inside. That accident happened around 7 45 tonight near Independence Park north of highway 580. Officers say the mom was picking up her two kids. She forgot to set the parking brake, sending the car rolling down a hit. It hit a fence, but no one was hurt. Firefighters had a chance to snap this photo of one of the kids while basing for the tow truck. San francisco general will implement several safety changes after the death of a patient. Lynn spaldings body was found three weeks later in a rarely used stairwell. Security changes include, converting do you remember alarms. Two deputy also be stationed every day of the week. The councilman is proposing a half cent city sales tax increase, which would allow the department to go back to having 1400 officers on staff.
